I use a lot of different slides - glass, ceramic, brass, copper, chrome steel.
I thought I'd give the Fender Aluminum slides a go (mainly because they're so pretty)

It's great, light weight but thick walled. The sound is not at all what I expected. You get the bass tones and volume of a glass or ceramic slide with smooth metallic trebles. This is a very versatile slide. It's like you get an extra dimension of sound, overtones that sort of "zing".
I don't expect the Candy Apple finish to last forever but I've put in about 12 hours on it so far without a mark.
If you're into slide guitar, I urge you to try these. I think I'll buy another one (Sage Green?)

OK, well there's not too many slide guitarists on here, but after a few months here's an update on this great Fender item. I've used it almost exclusively now for what must be a few hundred hours. It still looks great and still has most of it's finish.

These slides really do have a unique character especially when playing acoustic. They're not just for show.
All I can do is recommend them once again.

This is what I use, a big heavy lump of brass. Works for me. I've got three or four of these.

Sounds like this ...

Flea-bay mate. They sound great on a Reso.
Here's a green 'un.
