I have my 200 disc CD player loaded with over 40 Beatle CDs and I'm listening to Let It Be Naked at the moment-Across The Universe is playing now.The whole album sounds much better to my ears compared to Phil Spector's over orchestrated original release. Across The Universe is especially beautiful and touching with just John's vocals and him playing guitar. This album is a prime example of less is more.

Though I am a huge Beatles-fan (even more earlier - at that time I would be searching like mad for new stuff from the Beatles )
Now - I still haven't heard Let It Be -Naked  Thanks for reminding me- I will check it out

I've had that CD for quite awhile now. I go back and forth between the two depending on what kinda mood I'm in.
One of my favorite collection of Beatles rarities is "The Beatles - Sessions"... that acoustic demo of Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is killer! (Can't understand why that last verse never made it to the studio version).
That song gets me "right here"... either version.

I have both versions of this album, but prefer "Let It Be...Naked" It was the way they (the Beatles) intended it to be. Phil did make a mess of things on the other in many ways.

theres a version of that song on the 'Love' album. its just guitar, strings and voice. its stunning. i dont think theres even a solo in it.

i really like the Love album and let it be naked. i like to hear songs recorded in ways they werent originally done, or recorded not as we 'know' them.

Have to agree with you about the Naked version, years ago I dubbed all the original versions off of a VCR tape of the movie for that specific reason. Spector has produced a few good things over the years but he's also made some horrific mixes that kind of makes you wonder(Well besides being a totally paranoid whack job) He crucified the Leonard Cohen tracks he produced and his original mixes of the Lennon Rock and Roll LP were horrendous.
