I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not. I added my support, does this mean I voted for you? I don't have FB or Twitter accounts.
Anyway, good luck. We're going to see Clapton in Phoenix on his tour opening night. We considered going to Crossroads, but from L.A., it's a much larger commitment than Phoenix.

That's not a dumb question, and yes, adding your support is essentially a vote. Votes aren't the only thing taken into consideration, so are the number of plays for your music, and the number of facebook fans and youtube hits you have. Even if you don't have a facebook or twitter, every little bit helps! :)

And Ceri, I'm not sure when it ends. I need to go back over the rules in detail after supper to find out.

Thanks for everyone's support so far! I've broken the top 100 (just barely), and I just need to stay there for a little while. I'm literally passing out fliers to everyone I meet! If you get the chance, please invite your facebook friends to like my page and share the link with everyone you can. I've noticed that the only stat of the people on the first few pages that are significantly bigger than mine are the number of facebook likes. Again, every little bit helps! :D

I don't have any real issues with this Facebook involvement to meet your needs in this case but the entire idea of the way this whole gig is being engineered is so 'Big Brother'. I normally eschew any offer which requires me to use Facebook as a link. The only 'friends' I have on Facebook [with the exception of two] are connected to the Forum, or to music.

What a wonderful opportunity. Congrats!

This is more than just "opening for" Clapton.

Three words: Gary Clark Jr.

Nobody had heard of him until they saw his amazing 2010 Crossroads performance on Netflix in late 2011 (when it was put on Netflix). This is literally true. He is now a star who plays for the President every other week because of playing very early in the day in the bright sunlight at Crossroads 2010. Clark has been around since about 2007 and he was even in the movie "Honeydripper," but had not even so much as released an EP until late 2011 after Crossroads made him a star. He blew the crowd off their feet with that performance of Bright Lights.

Clapton Crossroads 2010 is an absolute must see video, by the way, if you haven't seen it. available on iTunes for great price for literally 4.5 hours of great guitar music.

Here is the performance that made Gary Clark Jr's life:

Very good point! I remember seeing that back in 2010. He's huge all now.

Does anyone have any ideas about other places I can share the link to my profile? I've joined a couple of other forums where I've been a longtime lurker and posted it, and I've shared it all over facebook. But I'm sort of running out of ideas now, and I need to keep the momentum going to stay on the top 100.

Tab Benoit, also Orianthi played on a separate stage, and are
also huge now.
So I'm really hoping more will support the cause, and get your spot to
open for Clapton.

What an honor....

You are up against my man Jake Haldenwang in that contest. You two will probably have to have a shoot out. Giving you fair warning, he's awfully amazing.

I'll be sure to him out. :) It turns out I actually know a couple of other competitors too!

Well, my drumming up support has been somewhat hampered today because my Internet is out at the house and it takes five times longer to do anything on my phone. We had a storm last night, and the customer service is horrible at the company we get Internet from. If you get the chance, and you have a Facebook profile, please like my Facebook page (which helps my standings) and share the contest link with your friends. My friends are probably already sick of seeing it! Lol
