It's probably blasphemy but I put Free Bird in the same catagory as Stairway to Heaven a long time ago.

I've heard it so many times, played it so many times, heard others play it so many times that I can only handle it every 3 or 5 years or so.

This is definitly generational, all my friends played the first 4 van Halen albums so much when I was in High School, I don't care if I ever hear another Eddie tapping solo, ever. And I can honestly say "I Can't Stand David Lee Roth!" specialy that squeaky thing he does. He sound like someone Goosed him with a Curling Iron. A little Freebird or Stairway was a welcome escape from the '80's lack of finesse.

EVH Dancing in the Streets is the best solo. It's part of the whole song and rips.

Of those two, Freebird.

of the two, i would say freebird since it is like five minutes long. but if you want the best guitar parts, Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson.
