I like the Boss multi effects pedals too. My ol' friend Larry has one. It's nice because it has all the analog knobs us old geezers have been used to since the '70's, and quiet?... verrrrry quiet.

OK, if you like all of the modulations and effects, etc., why not just buy a nice tube amp and a processor like Boss GT-8 or 10?

+1!

Nine bills would set somebody up pretty well with a nice vintage Fender reverb combo.

The Line 6 will become boring rather quickly. In a year or two, it'll be relegated to a dark neglected corner of the cellar or garage like some misfit toy after the owner discovers what real guitar tone is. Five years later, it'll be posted in a C/L ad for one fifth of its value. A decade after it was initially purchased it'll become landfill fodder for the local dump and nobody will ever remember that Line 6 made such a novelty.

The old knobs etc. was the reason I bought a GT-8. So easy to use. I've had a few multi-effects units and Boss makes the easiset to use and to me....the best sounding.

It's just so much easier to get a really good tube amp that you'll have for years upon years and add effects through pedals, processors, racks, etc. to get the sounds you want during the past, present, and future. Only having to change effects and not the amp. Our tastes will change through the years, but odds are that you'll never need another amp if you get a really good one to begin with.

One more plug for a boss multieffects pedal.....I am constantly hearing "Nice tone!" from most everyone that hears my playing. Then I have to break it to them that it's my Boss GT-8. Those units are wonderful and sound good running through a Fender tube amp.

I wish "strings" would post more similar info that matters to the forum and lay off the SPAM... still sounds like he's selling something.

As I mentioned in my previous post, your gas attack piqued my curiosity and this afternoon I checked out the DT25 out the local music shop.

My experience with this amp is certainly not extensive, (I played the head w/cabinet), but enough to tell me that the DT25 is not for me. The stock sounds are very good, even impressive perhaps, but it takes a lot of fiddling around to dial things in and then even more fiddling to swtich things around. In fairness it may be a case of teaching the old dog new tricks but on the other hand the 20-something crowd selling the amp were not having an easy time navigating the manual either.

Let us know when you've had a chance to play through this amp and how the gas attack is going. If you really dig the sounds and enjoy tinkering with knobs, then this amp may be the right one for you. FWIW I'm over on Frankie's side of the stage with my HRD Blues machine.

Cheers!
BM

That's great but I have no flippin idea what you're talking about. Are you my secret admirer?

From searching your posts, you seem to spend as much time talking about cars as guitars, so who's the spammer? :|
