And thought, whoa!!!!

Now I'm seriously gassing for it, any experiences
with this amp neg or pos?

It gets decent reviews... not great, but decent.

I like the multi-impedence outputs and the fact that it's a 1X12.

But, it's a hybrid Amp, a modelling Amp, it's designed to sound like some other Amp(s). Personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by this and solid state Amps in general.

You may be happier with an all-tube Amp. Suggest checking out all competing Amps and those in the same price range before deciding (a choice of one is no choice).

IMHO, it's a little spendy for an Amp which is not easily repairable and likely won't retain it's value over the years.

I just got the Bugera V5 for under $150 and it sounds better than my Princeton Chorus (SS) except that the Princeton is 2X10 and has a real spring reverb tank on it.

In the end, it's your ear and your cash. If it works for you... debate over !

Good Luck with what you decide !

cheers!

That's the thing, it's all tube amplifier with a modeling component that can
be bypassed. At least by my understanding.
I know what a great tube amp sounds like, my friend has a two rock
studio pro 35 and Jet 35, divided by 13, Marshall JVM 410 DRRI,
I have a ltd Ed DRRI, blues jr , and egnater tweaked 40.
Ps, I'm not a line 6 fan, but intrigued by this one. But I would like to know
if there's anybody with experience with this one out there?
I'll have to try it out....

.... and just to give the other side of the Tube vs. Solid State thing

1. My solid state modeling amp is very lightweight compared to a comparable tube amp

2. Being able to switch from a Fender amp model to what sounds like a Marshall with a single button press is pretty useful

3. My foot controller buttons are programmable!

4. Generally cheaper for solid state

5. If my knobs are bumped on the way to a gig, the settings aren't changed

6. I can lock my amp so nobody can mess with my settings - very useful if you choose to share your amp at a gig

7. I can back up all my setting to a computer and restore them to the amp if necessary

8. Built-in effects! Way more useful than I had anticipated

9. I can connect my amp to my computer with a USB cable for recording

10. I can download other people's presets and apply them to my amp

They each have their advantages. I'm very happy with my modeling amp, the feature set is killer. Sorry, I don't have any specific info about the Line 6 DT25 except to say that demo sure sounded nice!

Yeah, I really like the HD 500 pod, my friend has M13 and is awesome.
I tried the HD300 at a local GC and liked it.

From what I read and see in vids, the hd 500 is the best out there for under $1000. And it really competes with the best (Axe-Fx I believe) in a lot of ways.

I'm always amazed at the amount of variety the modeling amps offer, along with the built-in effects modulation, and how you can create your own, and how you can control everything with a foot switch... if you have time to learn it all.
I had a Vox amp that had all that buit-in stuff, but trying how to use it all practically was a challenge. I wound up finding my favorite amp model and left it there. I used the reverb modulation setting, and left that there.
I messed around with it occasionally, but never used any of the other settings... I could get all the sounds I wanted out of my stomps, so I left them there too.

Traded it in for a Hot Rod Deluxe and never looked back. Very happy with the all-tube and analog dials... and the amp model I liked in the first place 8)

If you have the time to learn it and use it "practically" then go for it. Too complex for me.

I would rather have all stomps and a tube amp too. It's just that the hd 500 has so many effects for the price. It would cost a couple thousand dollars or more to try and get all that in analog stomps. I know most don't need all those effects, However, having a multi-effects on call and your favorite stomps together seems the best of both worlds.

If the gas pains get too strong you know what has to be done!

Have you played through this amp? You Tube videos are okay but when it comes to amps or guitars I feel it's really important to test drive.

Thanks for the gas alert, bluesstrattone. Your post has piqued my curiosity and I'll check out the DT25 as soon as I get a chance. I don't think I'll be cheating on my beloved HRD but it's always fun to try new gear. :)

Cheers!

I wish "strings" would post more similar info that matters to the forum and lay off the SPAM... still sounds like he's selling something.

Lmao, strings the spammer  , simple case of wrong place wrong time..

Well, I decided I'm gonna try it out if guitarcenter gets one,
900.00 bones...thought it was cheaper.
I'm also looking at blackstar ht40, Marshall dsl40c, and the hot rod deluxe.
I am looking to replace my egnater tweaker 40, truth be told .

OK, if you like all of the modulations and effects, etc., why not just buy a nice tube amp and a processor like Boss GT-8 or 10? I run mine through a small Fender Pro Junior and get some huge sounds. I also can plug up my pedal board and unplug the GT-8 any time I want and rock out that way. I guess I'm stuck on basic (classic) amps while I don't mind playing around between pedals and processors.
