I'm having the same issue. If I try to view my private messages, takes several logins.

I had the issue when the first changes were rolled out and then Brad suggested clearing cache/cookies, etc. which solved the problem.

This site can be helpful as a guide:

Good luck!

I tried clearing my browsing history in both Chrome and Internet Explorer 8, no luck.

I experienced this problem on 2 different computers on 2 different networks (home and work).

Both computers = Windows XP Professional, I.E. 8, all Windows Updates are applied on both computers.

Thanks Mike, that's all good info. I'm an IT administrator by trade, had tried all the simple stuff already.

Anyone who is not having any issues might have selected "Log me in automatically each visit" which I do not do.

One problem I have been seeing lately is the site now frequently resets my cookies so that all threads appear as new and unread even if i just read it 3 seconds ago. That's an admittedly very minor inconvenience but maybe mentioning it will help shed light.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I still have to click the "log me in automatically" thing or I get auto logged out.

If you don't select that option, when you close the forum without logging out, the forum will log you out. It has always worked that way. Nothing has changed.

Just ignore him. I'm grabbing a detailed snapshot of each incident there and the guy is not too bright to say the least. At some point I'm thinking it may occur to him that what he's doing is rather easily traced back to the source.

No, I mean it will log me out while in the forum unless I check that. When I click on a thread or try to post a reply.

It's kinda strange, I tried turning off cookie blocking, deleted old settings, and a few other things But, I have to have that selected or I get logged out at the first page it goes to after logging in. I use chrome. Oh well, at least there is a work around.

Ah. I see. Interesting. I have not had a single problem. I am running IE9.

Until now , the changes in the forum has not affected my Mac . Perhaps with one exception , which I think BMW-KTM mentioned ( I just now also experienced that I cannot scroll back to the first side in this thread.... ) :
The newly read posts appears like they are unread
Edit: I could actually not scroll back all the way even on this side.... Just noticed after posting

AND - I suddenly had to check the box for stay logged in . Before I did that my posting was reset to empty , and I was logged out. Again -and again - and ag....................................... until I checked that box.
I am using Safari 6.02 in mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.2)
And I have not changed any settings earlier , because it worked OK until today
