Nooooooooooooo!!!

Hey Snowjoe, how'd that happen - did it not come from a UK supplier? Gosh, while you're about it you'd better check it's a 230 volt model and not a - pah! - 110 volt one.

I presume you're talking to the vendor, but in case there's problems or hold-ups with that, what does the other end of that lead look like? If it's a regular kettle lead like most amps I'm sure I've got about a dozen spares lying around and would be more than happy to drop one in the post to you, if that would help.

Love that tolex colour! Ya gotta be busting to hear what it sounds like!

Anyhow. Congrats.

Cheers - C

Yeah it came from GAK so only Brighton! It OK though I've been on the phone and the guy has got one being dispatched today for me so fingers crossed Saturday I'll get to power it up! Checked it all over though and it's definitely a 230v model so all should be well.

Very kind of you to offer Sir, luckily enough my Dad owns a home cinema install business so I've got him searching though their mounds of kettle leads for one, although even a lot of the power amps they use there aren't even 16 amp. But I'm sure there is one somewhere.

Although would you know, does 16 amp seem right? Because at my dads work they seem to think it might be a lot, but personally I am clueless!

Or you could just borrow one from the back of your computer or printer? Or another amp? Or even... well, the kettle?

Dammit, I'm almost as keen to know what it sounds like as you must be!

The amp(lifier) may be five watts but I'd have thought the fuse is probably 13 amps - though check the paperwork.

My mighty Marshalls all take 13 watt plugs and I'd be a bit surprised if that's not what your Fender wants too. Can't recall ever hearing of a 16 watt fuse, but I stand to be corrected.

And by the way, you'll probably find that the kettle lead in your kettle is 13 amps too, which is highly convenient. Though please read your Champ's manual first - if you electrocute yourself to death in the next few minutes I'm going to feel a little bit guilty.

Cheers - C

Hmm. It says power requirement is 90W and the fuse in it is F1.6AL. Considering I don't know what this means I should probably wait for them to send me one :)

Rest easy I'm not gonna be blown up today 8)

I expect it means you'll find a little cover on the back panel inside which is a glass 1.6 amp master fuse. Though I've never owned a Fender amp so I don't know their layout.

When the replacement lead arrives from GAK then presuming it is fused at all you'll probably find it has a 13 amp fuse in it - but if you're happy to wait then that's probably best. That way if you die it's their fault not mine. Kindly inform your family of that in the meantime. In case they need to sue. :)

I'm kidding. It's simple stuff and you're going to be fine. So sit back and rock that amp! 8) (Tomorrow.)

Cheers - C

Baah humbug, so as luck would have it one of my close friends has this same amp in the black colour so he brought me over his lead. Plug it in and play a little clean, sounds lovely, soon as I turn up the volume and reverb a little, bang, couple of pops and its dead, fuse is intact and power light comes on just no sound now at all. Looks like more dealer calls for me tomorrow.

Congrats on getting such a great amp-if she sounds as pretty as she looks she'll no doubt be incredible.

Like I said she sounded fantastic for the 30 seconds she worked, hopefully work something out, I mean I will take the regular black version but the Surf Green is just too pretty to let go of :(

But hey sound is more important than colour at the end of the day.

I have a surf green SCX2 and it sounds every bit as good as it looks. The sound of the clean channel of this amp never stops wooing me.I'd buy it for just that channel alone. Having all of the effects for it is great. Tweaking in fuse allows for endless fine tuning.

Good to hear Modwiz! Safe to say I'm very excited to play it. To be fair to the dealer they have been excellent, they're sending a courier to my house start of next week to pick it up and take it back, I haven't had to sort any of it.
