I can certainly 'chime' again TQ. Say you start a new thread and attract some 'up front' attention.

ZZDoc, not sure what you meant by saying to post this again? Did I get that right? I would love to go do the Fender University, but I think if we get enough responses to your post, we can convince them to do it!

We're OK with this. I'll take it to our glorious leader.

Before committing to anything, I'm sure many would like to hear a ballpark estimate.
Even if off quite a bit. Knowing whether it's in the $500 or $5000 range matters.

My recommendation: Use incentives. If buying a guitar during the course, knock half the price of the guitar off the course fee. That won't cost Fender much, if anything.

Let's take it down from '11' to '3' with the highs rolled off. I advised Brad that there was strong interest. He contacted the people who ran it in the past and it is not on the docket for '14 or '15. Demand would be a factor in future. I wrote back to the effect that there is demand and reitterated the need to know number of spots available, likely dates, and costs. With regard to arth's comment, I believe a Stratocaster was included in the package. I don't know who of the currently active members attended the first two but I do know of one I can tap into for further info. IMHO, I'd just as soon as let FMIC write the rules and regs and run with it from there.

I looked into that last one, but couldn't get the time off to go, and due to distance to travel it wasn't going to work out too well...

But the info was you received either a Strat or a Tele--and I think there were a few other choices (fingerboard wood being one I believe)
The inclusion of a Strat or Tele with some choices made it worth it if you were in the area and had the cash to pay for it.

Bring it up to Canada and I'd take a look at it again.

I'm looking at this with Brad. The first session was late August '09. A very comprehensive program. There was a guitar/bass included. The cost was $6500. With a 'byog' and some trimming, the cost might be brought down. More later.

Ah, in that case, count me out. I can rent a dedicated teacher for two weeks for less, not having to share with others.
I see no reason why this should cost several times more than a advanced business training class. The last one I took was $2100 for a week.

Are you saying it's famelicking sold under the veneer of training? If so, there's even less reason to go.
In my opinion, of course. Others may feel different, and be willing to pay big bucks to meet their stars.

I'm hoping to have a link to the original the program for the first session posted. After reviewing you may or may not consider it as 'flamelicking' sold under the veneer of training. I expect that those who attended the two sessions, as well as those who might have yet did not, for a variety of reasons, would appreciate a far more tactful critique which does not innocently cast dispersions upon them for their interest.

FYI:

It's possible that by eliminating the gear, and reducing the numbers of the 'talent', without severely diluting the purpose of the experience, the cost factor might be reduced. The remainder of the content is something I expect most attendees would enjoy being involved in. It's something which has to be looked more intensely if interest suggest it warranted.

I can fully see others being interested, but it has too little "university" in it for me. I'd go for 80% learning, 20% fun, but not the other way around.
