COLORS
Obviously it's something on my end but I'm not sure what it is.

Before I was able to highlight text, click on a color in the palette, and the appropriate BBS color code was inserted automatically. Clicking on the color palette now has no effect. I can use colors Blue for example, by manually inserting the BBS code (i.e. [color=blue] etc.) but not by clicking.

C'mon guys. I feel so lonely. Please tell me I'm not the only one here with this issue.

Cheers!

The red Fender button is/was cool; it's the fixed navbar that's the issue:

<div class="navbar navbar-inverse navbar-fixed-top">

The navbar is intrusive when it's "fixed". It remains at the top of the page even when scrolling down into the text/content area -- it's hogging a hunk of prime browser screen space with the fixed command.

For long pages, a nav bar at the bottom of the page is a convenience if that's what you'e after!

But not fixed, that's the issue.

Otherwise, the site is purrrrfect -- fast and friendly, easy to read, and purty!

+1

The obscenely-intrusive navbar is totally obscuring my log-in status and access to my PM account.

Would be helpful to post a screen shot of what you're seeing. There is no red Fender button - hence difficult to debug ...

It all looks great now, Brad!

My log-in status is visible, my PM account is now accessible, and I can see the FAQ, Search, Control Panel, and the master clock (mebbe someday you can arrange for the latter to display "our" time, ie: Arizona MST).

Bravo Zulu, Sir!

K, I was gonna say ... everything you were just mentioning there is what we just fixed. :-)

A perfect example of a non-fixed nav-bar is @ forum.gibson.com. When you call-up a page, the nav-bar is at the top of the page where it's needed. When you scroll down the page to read the rest of the text, the nav-bar stays at the top of the page and scrolls off the screen as the reader scrolls down the screen so the reader has full view of the page.

A nav-var that scrolls up with the page will fix all the issues mentioned thus far.

Here's a screenshot:

I'm aware of what a fixed nav bar is. :D just was ensuring you were seeing the same thing everyone else was. You piped in a bit late here and most of the discussion above is in regards to a previous incarnation of the nav that we just retired earlier today. The one that we have currently is getting the job done in my book, though happy to keep the debate going here.

I liked the red Fender button. A red label with Fender on it says Fender to me! But, not in fixed mode when it's drooping down into the text area, then it becomes intrusive and annoying.

With respect to the fixed nav-bar, it entails more mouse movements to get things done...scroll down to see this, scroll back up to see that, and when clicking on an email link, the nav var is almost always on top of the text, like this:
Image

To read the top of the post, there's an added scroll sequence necessary.

...the less time I spend fiddling with the nav-bar, the more time I have to explore it.

From a marketing point-of-view, the red colored tab will stimulate interest and passion (key selling points for musical instruments), and less time fiddling with the interface means more time to explore the pretty red nav-bar!

I think it is a good idea but for the fixed nav-bar gobbling up the browser space!

The red button added "elegance" too, it just looked right and looks naked without it now.

The nav bar is still taking up rather a lot of vertical space on smaller type phones screens. However, I think everyone fully understands that the NAMM is coming up and this sort of detail can wait till things quieten down afterwards.

Aside from that, all the glitches seem to be fixed, far as I can see (using IE9, Firefox and Safari).

Brad, thanks for all the effort you must be putting in on this at what we know is an amazingly busy time of the year for you. Much appreciated! :D

Cheers - C

Hmmm ... it is? If you count pixels it is actually slightly slimmer than our old site nav bar was and is absolutely miniscule on all phones I'm checking here. That's why I'm not convinced we're all looking at the same thing here. Make sure you clear your phone browser's cache and try restarting your phone's browser, then report back? If still having woes would love a screen grab of what you're seeing.

I don't know if anyone else is having this experience, but when I view the results of someone's poll, or when I view a poll when not logged in so all I get are the results, the bars representing the poll results are horizontally huge - in some cases I have scroll down a screen or more to get to the next bar. Here are a series of screen shots from the fingerpicking poll.

Yes, known (separate) issue there which we'll be resolving shortly. (Editing: this should be resolved now actually.)
