I use my laptop with a foot-switch. It works well.

Check online for the Digitech Jamman Solo. I saw those for $99.99 US in some places. They were $199.99. I Think Digitech is coming out with a newer version of that pedal and dealers are cleaning out their inventory. It should do anything you want within reason.

Be careful you might get drawn to the dark side of the looping world where entire populations of perfectly good guitarists get sucked in to the perpetual loop and all you can hear are echoes of their past performances.

Seriously there are forums dedicated to this art form...Be careful...be very careful. :D

Man, if you could pick up a Digitech Jamman Solo for 99 that would be sweet.

Back in the 80's I had two reel-to-reel tape decks. Set the feed reel up on one and set the take-up reel on the other about 6 feet apart from each other. Had the out jacks on the take-up deck plugged into a small mixer along with the guitar and the mixer into the in jacks on the feed deck.
Set the feed deck to "record" and the take-up deck to "playback".

I'd play a riff and it would be recorded on the feed deck. A few seconds later (more or less time, depending on how far apart the decks were) it would play on the take-up deck and get re-recorded on the feed deck while I'd be busy playing another riff that was getting recorded and played back and re-recorded... about a half hour later you could sponge what was left of me off the floor  Now, that's a tape-loop!

I loved the Line6 DL-4 (several delay models plus loop station) but it was simply too big for my pedal board.

Now I use a tc electronics Flashback pedal.

I did this song with it:

Why are there always good deals when I'm broke? As soon as I get finances going good all the good deals will end!

Good deals missed: Fender Greta amp 99.00
Les Paul Studio (TV Yellow - I like it) 499.00
Now this.
Plus many more!!!
