All of them. But mostly, I find myself in the 4th position (bridge & middle). There is just something about that "quack" tone that I like.

For the longest time I used the neck pickup mostly. Now I'm all over the place depending on what sound/tone I'm searching for.

When playing a Strat I usually use position 2 or 4 when playing rhythm and for some leads.I don`t use the bridge pup too much at all for leads but may engage it for part of the lead breaks for some songs.I usually play my Tele set in the 2nd or 3rd position for rhythm and leads except for leads where I use the bridgepup but usually roll off a good bit of treble by setting the tone between 4-7.The same holds true for most guitars, even the humbucker equipped ones.I don't like ear splitting trebles on lead breaks except on songs like "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Machine Gun" where icepick sharp trebles are imperative to achieve the proper feedback.

My main Strat is in a hsh configuration but I find myself in the mid+neck for rhythm and flick to the neck for leads

I will generally play on the neck pickup most of the time because I like the sound most but I play on all settings depending on song or style of music.

Dave.

I do tend to favor the bridge or middle/bridge.
It seems to suit the eastern-influenced stuff I (try to) play.

I have a K9 switch in one of my Strats giving me 9 positions instead of 5 and I can still honestly say that I use every single one of them. I particularly like the neck+bridge position for an almost Tele-like sound and all 3 together is a very warm and round sound especially with the bridge and middle in series.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I have 2 humbuckers ... more often than not, I select both pickups and 'mix' them using the volume and tone knobs until I have the sound I'm looking for.

i use all of them, but the other day i found that middle/neck gets this great, big, warm sound out of my strat... so now that's my go to position for rhythm or if the song needs it.

I use all of them, I even like the middle position, especially with my Texas Special Strat.

Tele -- middle (both on) ~ 60%, neck only ~ 30%, bridge only ~ 10%

Strat -- neck only 25%; neck + middle - 50%; middle only ~ 5%; middle + bridge ~ 5%; bridge only - 15%

LP/SG type -- both on ~ 40%, neck only 40%, bridge only 20%
