Just picked up this guitar at a local shop, is this a solid body or plywood? I seem to see mixed posts regarding the body material. The s/n is IC030919821, no info on pre 2008 IC guitars on the Fender Product Dating page, plus it's 7 digits after the 03 instead of 6 which seems typical. Seems pretty original any idea on mods to get the most from it? Just started playing. I'm into it $80 so far.

Probably the best way to tell if the body is plywood or not is to remove the neck and check the body neck pocket where the wood is unpainted.

As far as getting the most from it, IMO you should replace the whole guitar as the Bullet model is severely lacking in almost every part. It might be fine for learning to play, but it's not really worth putting any money into a $100 guitar. For the money it would cost to upgrade nearly every part on the Bullet, you could get a nice used MIM Std Strat, which would be much better by far.
