Brad's posting above was timely. However, the awareness of FSR guitars is more often a matter of caprice. One just happens to be in the right place at the right time, by chance. There are many members, including myself, who have been dismayed at their failure to have had a shot at a particular model. Starting in the new year, how about a thread which provides regular postings about FSR models when a vendor places an order for a run and giving followers of the website, and of the Forums in particular, a heads up to anticipate the guitar?

Seems an entirely sensible idea.

Advertise every Special Run here on the Forum as a matter of policy, including the vendor info in the posts. More potential sales for Fender, more sales for the shop that commissioned the run, more data for the guitar buying public. Everyone wins. What's not to like?

Cheers - C

I'm one hundred percent in agreement.

especially with the 2nd rate (at best,) selection the big stores up here offer, i would love a 'heads up' when something interesting is going to be released.

Fender doesn't do enough with Canadian chains to enhance curb appeal. I live in a city with a metro population of over 1.2 million people, yet there is no Fender Custom Shop Showcase dealer, the nearest is over 3 hours away, and is the only one in the province. We have the best economy in North America, but no where to easily buy top Fender products. Disappointing to say the least.

I'm pretty certain that well-heeled clients who arrange with FMIC for FSR instruments likely wish to keep such information to themselves as a matter of course. They're paying Fender a pretty penny for those guitars and all info regarding colors, features, specifications, and prices is usually proprietary in order to keep them unique to whomever ordered them built. Once they've been shipped to the vendor and released for sale, then some ex post facto release notification from Fender may be appropriate. But that's really for the vendor to decide.

That is an excellent suggestion. I keep a very close eye in FSR teles and it would be great to get the heads up. Anything that helps Fender and their clients sell guitars etc has got to be a good idea.

Brad if your reading ths please lets have the model info, location of availability and numbers available in th run.

.......and.....if there's a confidentiality issue involved, at least to know when the run starts shipping to the vendor.

I lucked out on that FSR AmDlx VG simply by chance and about 9 mos later when the line was D/C'd. It was exactly what I was hoping for in that guitar model but it only happened as a result of a GC run. The company obviously had no intention of producing it on their own and I seriously doubt that they will in the new version, unless an FSR is ordered.
