What's the best tremolo pedal for that 60's, R&B, Bo Diddley, fat tube, deep and wobbley sound? "I found a love" by The Falcons on LuPine records is perfect example. I'm talking gut bucket, stinky feet tremolo!

You can't go wrong with this pedal.
No frills.
No fancy shmancy glitter tie-dye paint jobs.
It just works.
Perfectly.
Supa-Trem

You can't go wrong with Electro-Harmonix pedals-the Wiggler would be a great choice.I have a Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo thast only cost about $50 but it outperforms pedals over twice the price. The Cool Cat can go from just a gentle waver to an intense throbbing.

The cool cat got excellent reviews on Amazon. Might pick one of for my Bugera V-5. I already have reverb that sounds perfect at the low levels I like. Thanks for the info Guitslinger.

I just got a brand new Bayou Trem from Mojo Hand FX. It's a great pedal that's really versatile, you can get everything from that deep 60's sound to a subtle shimmer with it.

Or this...

That would be what I'd get if I didn't have the Bayou Trem.

The very best tremoloes are the ones built into old black face Fender amps,Supro,Magnatone and other great amps from the 60s.I believe a lot of these had an extra tube that was dedicated just to operate the tremolo circuit and that made an enormous difference.
The tremoloes in Vox amps-especially the AC-15 and 30 are incredible and really get the very heavy throbbing tremolo like Johnny Marr got on The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now".
The tremolo built into Vox Tonelab multi-effects units is also incredible.

As stated earlier, the Danelectro Cool Cat is a low-cost answer. I have their Tuna Melt tremolo and it produces the basic sounds well enough.

Now I'm looking for a trippy pedal like the E-H Stereo Pulsar or an old BOSS PN-2 Panning Tremolo if I can find one reasonably priced.

I'm going with a cool cat soon. I have discovered Red Witch products now and depending on tax returns there are a few things they have that caught my ear. They have 5 minute demos of their higher end pedals. Good videos, not some well meaning but confused beginner apologizing for their playing. The site has a very magical feel to it.

A little update:
The Red Witch site has smaller pedals that are rechargeable. I already use rechargeable batteries in anything that uses a battery but these little boxes make it very simple because you can use any standard 9 volt adapter to charge them and they stay charged for a long time.

Here is a very professional video about these pedals and their Tremelo one called Eve. They have seven different ones they call the seven sisters.

I use a Boss TR-2 for now. It gets the job done. Plus I got it real cheap, but I've had my eye on one of these for a long time.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VFE-Pedals-Old- ... 1e75c576ca

It's not listed on the website anymore, as they are changing to building smaller pedals.

Since you brought up both tremelo and reverb, you may want to look into a Boss FDR-1. I've been told that it immulates a 65' Fender Deluxe Reverb rather well and it includes a good tremelo and reverb. The reverb can get annoying past 3 oclcock with the built in pings of an actual 65 FDR. I just bought one off ebay to see how it sounds with a Fender Pro Jr. I wanted a reverb, a tremelo, and an equalizer for my pro jr. and saw this and said, meh, might as well try it. We'll see how it really is when the seller finally sends it.

The Boss FDR-1 has Vibrato, not Tremolo.

I have this pedal, I'm not crazy about the Tremolo effect so I wasn't using it too much.

The reverb 'ping' sound definitely gets annoying above a certain level.

Also, this pedal is technically a distortion pedal. It's not designed to produce a clean sound, although it can be done (I used it just to color my tone for a while, keeping it as clean as possible).

When the time came to pick up a Tremolo pedal, I kept with the Boss family - sure it's not the greatest ever, but it's so reliable and that's what I wanted.

I stand corrected (vibrato). I've seen a lot posted concerning the FDR-1 and getting a clean sound (after I bought it of course). I'll fiddle with it and see what I can do with it. If I feel like I can't clean it up enough and don't find a true use in my pedal board, I'll just sell it. They seem to keep their value anyway. Really been wanting something to color my tone with on the pro jr. and a little reverb. I was hoping that this would be just the thing to do it with.

edited to add: the Deluxe Reverb’s vibrato effect is really a tremolo effect, since it produces volume modulation and not pitch modulation but strings is still correct that it's called vibrato on the pedal.
