Thanx for cheering but I presently have no spare neck available and I'll have to finish the body first, which I started recently. So you gotta be patient. ;)

I'm not a big fan of inlays - especially block inlays - and given a choice I would prefer a fretboard without position markers on its face.

+1

I like the look of a fingerboard with no inlays at all. To me, no inlays looks good on any kind of guitar. Just the side markers and I'm good to go.

No-one has yet mentioned that a handful of years ago Fender offered the Big Block Strat and Tele. Some like 'em and some don't. For those as are interested they turn up on Ebay now and again.

Probably neither of those are for me, but I do think black block inlays on a maple neck have a certain vibe which I like and which is distinctively Fender enough to justify seeing them on Teles and Strats. You wouldn't mistake this for a Gibson...:

Also, my MIJ '75 Jazz Bass has pearloid block inlays and off-white binding on a maple fingerboard. Pretty Fendery - pretty tasty, to my eye! :)

SWEET!!!! I didn't know that!
Mexican or USA?
Unfortunately I don't like matching headstocks on strats. (Sandpaper, here I come! ;) )

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

We need tiny little LCD screens between the frets, so I can have animated fire markers.

Really, I like side dots only.

Interesting, the matching headstock is what brings it together for me! 8)

+1 on that! I love that black headstock with the white logo, looks really smart to me.

But as we say, different strokes and all that...

Well, after a second look: in black it doesn't look so bad.

My Burns Cobra has a white matching headstock and I left it untouched as well.

My Ibanez RG and my Ibanez Jem both have matching headstocks.

I don't know why but it's always the Fender strats which I hardly look at when they have matching headstocks. I can't explain why, I just love the look of a natural headstock.

When I first considered them, I was leaning against blocks. After seeing what Ceri posted with the matching headstock, it's an interesting concept and it works for me. Perhaps I am biased though, since the Bass is my love.

+1 Strats and Tele's with block inlays aren't what I'm used to seeing, on a case by case basis perhaps :D

I like block inlays--but I think we are so used to dots on fenders and for some the block inlays remind them of the 70's
