Just want to hear some thoughts on this,
I had a Eric Johnson HSC that someone sold me for XXX bucks. According to the specs, it was a Deluxe Blonde special case that can't be bought without the guitar (from the store).
Anyhow, I traveled overseas and (silly me) I took the case through the baggage without any protection over it ( I know, I know...)
Case came out with lots of scratches, and one of the leather ends was punctured and torn apart so badly that you could see the wood inside. (4cm long). I put masking tape over it. No problem.
Fast forward to this afternoon, I go to my local guitar store and for sale they have an used Tweed fender case, looking good, some scratches, tweed nor clean, nor dirty.
I bring my EJ Case, negotiate over the broken leather, and the fact that mine is probably rarer ("but leather has been torn apart", says the guy)
I want the tweed one so badly (always did) I pay 20 bucks and leave...happy!
The one I got looks vintage, no poodle inside, there is a reddish/orangey plush, feels like cotton, cover seems hard wood (good)
Getting home, I got second thoughts on the money/collectible side of things...did I do right ?

Hello Miguelrc,

Don't loose sleep over it, Enjoy your
new case. If you must have an EJ case
I see em on e-bay from time to time.
A purist will want that original case
but a player won't be concerned.
Best of luck with your guitar and new case.

Cheers.
