I have a 66 Super Reverb with a burnt jewel light. The last time I unscrewed the jewel light cover from the front the holding nut in the back of the chassis falls. I had to bring it to a Tech to disassemble to change the light and retrieve the fallen nut. This seems like something that should be do-able without taking to a Tech. Now when I start to unscrew the same thing is going to happen. I know. Anyone have any experience with this situation. Thanks.

Your lamp socket is just loose on the chassis. When is tight , you can unscew the jewel with not problem to replace the bulb lamp.

I have many amp , never happened , I do job myself.

The tech do a bad job , return it on warranty.

Thank You...and yes it is an original 1966 and a beauty. I am the third owner. It is a heavy 66 pounds to take all the way to the tech so I will try to disassemble if that is my only other option. Thanks for the advice.

Super66...It should be a hex nut that holds it to the chassis. By the way, how about some pics...I have a 65 BFSR...My favorite amp. Here is mine!

Look here ; http://tubedepot.com/p-pl-fender-style.html

You just have to tightened the big nut . Not easy to reach with wrench or long nose pliers. I use big long nose.

OK....got the jewel off without a problem. Last time it was the bevelled collar and the cover that came off as 1 piece. Now I have to try to find replacement bulb(s) here in Montreal. I see that the proper one is 6.3 volts and 0.15 amps. At an electronics shop here they have 6.3 but 0.25 amps. Would a .25 amp be OK?

A quick search on eBay here in the UK throws one up: 6.3 volt 0.15 amp bulb. And you could probably find many suppliers on google shopping.

You need a type 47 incandescent bulb. You can usually find them on Ebay -- ten bucks for a five-pack.

I'm from Montreal too ; Yes 0.25 amp will do the job , lots of them need 0.30 too and they'll fit.

47 type is the right number and original "name" as Retroverbial write
