I got the gift of giving. Watching my 3yr old daughter enjoy her Mini Squire she got for christmas.
(Don't be fooled - I built a Smokey amp into the guitar so she is actual jamming to a proper distortion sound on her guitar) :D

SK...Wow you must have been good with that haul! And glad to see parents are raising you right with TWO Clapton CD's!!!! That $500 bucks should go a long way in getting a nice DRRI, an amp perfect for you!

I got another 69 Bantam Bass Amp project and looking forward to working the rebuild with my son.

Enjoy your gifts!

T2

This year was a really nice Christmas. We tend to keep things simple nowadays and don't go overboard.

- A nice matching pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt.
- A nice long sleeve shirt.
- A beautiful winter jacket.
- $50 gift card from sister & brother-in-law.

Biggest, coolest, surprise:
- Vox AC1 Rhythm - battery powered mini amp.
- An excellent pair of Sennheiser headphones (to go with Vox mini amp).

The tiny Vox mini amp is unbelievable... This looks exactly like a tiny Vox AC30. I haven't had a chance to really go over it and doodle with all the settings and whatnot, but it sounds really good for what it is.

As you can see besides having the usual volume, tone, clean/distortion settings, etc... This thing also has 16 built-in rhythm/drum patterns (and 6 variations), so you can jam along to a beat, and an auxiliary jack so you can plug in an MP3 player and jam along to your favorite rock tunes!

When I first started goofing around with it with my '95 Fender Strat, I flipped on the distortion switch and selected "rock/metal" for the drum pattern/beat. Next thing I knew, I was rocking out to "Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC! And the best part that made it all worthwhile... My wife and daughters never heard a thing - except the subtle plinking of guitar strings! Me? I had the headphones on and was freakin' ROCKING!!! LOL... :D

Someone must be trying to tell me something about my personal grooming.
I got a home Barber kit and a Facial Hair Grooming Kit. I guess that equates to a Shave & a Hair Cut.
Marry Christmas gang.

Aaron K: These pix are priceless-she's a little darling and must be a pile of fun to watch, judging y the bottom pic.I hope that she goes on to a career in music.

This Christmas I finally got a Rickenbacker 320 plus a Fiesta Red Strat, but there is just one problem-they are 1/5 scale. I did however get a Vox 846HW handwired wah wah pedal,a 2013 Vintage Guitar mag price guide,a 2013 Fender Custom Shop Calender,a cool Beatles T-shirt,a Glo-in-the-dark Jimi Hendrix T-shirt,Hendrix on Hendrix-a compilation of interviews that Jimi did during his career.
The rest of my Christmas gifts was the regular run of the mill stuff like, socks, shirts, lounging pants, shave cream and other grooming aids etc. plus the real story of the actual dog that the YV series Rin Tin Tin was based on-that should be a good read and the Jimi book is guarenteed to be a great read-a while ago I bought the book that Jimi's brother Leon wrote-I have to read that first though,I'm dying to see what he has to say about his non-relative Janie hendrix who is now getting all the revenues from Jimi's legacy while his actual siblings get SFA.

Yes these have functioning trussrods, as I had to use it when I did the full setup and clean before I gave it to her, but because the neck is so short you only need very little adjustment.

Thanks all for the kind comments folks, I hope she grows up enjoying music just like her dad.

Those MIC Squiers are well built. Mine was a super cheap one ($200 guitar starter pack) and it played great. Only thing was the output jack was a bit iffy.
