Definitely West Coast. Definitely the Blues. And definitely a trip from Frisco. Perfect for bakeheads with flour in their hair.

The perfect blues song from the young ones, yes they learned from the old ones.

Canned Heat - one of my all time favourite classics, SBLS. Thanks, bro’.

This is from the west coast, it is Blues, it is different, and we’re on the road again to Mexico with “Wiseguy” Jim Byrnes from Vancouver:

Thanks for the smile FSB. I think Bakersfield whenever I hear Dwight.

Man! That was really good, Rollie. Very cool sound and performance. Great find. I dug it, bro’.

I saw Dwight on live TV a few weeks back, and I gotta say he still has it. IMHO I think, although he certainly has his fans, Dwight has better talent and experience than he sometimes gets credited for. Thankfully, his peers know it.

Thanks, for the addition, SBLS.

Hmm. I figured if Dwight the cowboy can do west coast Blues, I thought this would be a good time to sneakily insert the fabulous Californian born David Lindley with some southern blues and root music west coast style from the west coast.

Not convinced it’s west coast Blues? Listen closely and you’ll hear sitar from ‘Frisco.

Note: If you’re not familiar with David Lindley check out his bio, and yes he plays electric.

Interesting bio FSB. I have heard of the band Kaleidoscope and I wonder if they took their name from the club in Hollywood in those days. Thank you for posting.

Glad you enjoyed David Lindley, SBLS. His talent and skills are pretty extensive as you have read.

Interestingly, I knew about but was not into Kaleidoscope per se, but Jimmy Page called it his favourite band and he was influenced by David Lindley and the group. Notably, Lindley’s violin bow on the guitar preceded Page’s use. As for the band’s name, I do not know about taking it from the Hollywood club. It’s possible; however, there was another moderately popular but commercially less successful psychedelic folk band around the same time ‘65/‘66 from the UK., and to avoid confusion the Brits chose to change their name to prevent being confused with America’s Kaleidoscope associated with Canned Heat, Cream, and others either as a group or with Kaleidoscope’s individual players.

His El Rayo-X album (#34 on the chart) sits in my collection and, having found it at a record bazaar, I found, with Mercury Blues, it’s a great rock/reggae album albeit not so much Blues. :D

A Canned Heat Christmas. That Heat was pretty cool, SBLS. Thanks.

Here’s a little West Coast blues with a song (originated by Jake Holmes of San Francisco) that found it’s way to Jolly Old England (Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin), and back home to the West Coast later to be sung here by the great Anne Wilson (of Heart) in Seattle.

The 1967 original. Here’s Jake Holmes:

Nuff said.

Snuggie was great , SBLS.

Here’s a Juno winner and Hall Of Famer considered to have been one of Canada’s best. Singer/songwriter/guitarist blues man Johnny V (Mills). This is one of his compositions. Listen close and you might hear several styles wrapped into one, and some pretty good bass playin’ too methinks.

Sadly, Johnny left us March 31, 2013 from a heart attack. He was 59.

R.I.P. Johnny V.
Very solid sound from Johnny V's guitar Gary. He's playing for the Honkettes in heaven. Johnny V is good.
A classic song, in his honor
