That about sums it up!

And, you need to have a serious thinker when somebody demands you give up your guns while they keep theirs -- that's way out of balance, way unfair, thoroughly dubious, absolutely un-just.

In all historical instances when governments ask the people to give up their guns, genocide and slavery *always* manifest; nevertheless, crime soars as the community has no deterrent and means to protect themselves.

That's a line used by a firearms school on their ads here in Massachusetts.

This thread makes me wanna buy a gun already. But they're just so expensive! I usually go to the range and fire my friend's guns, he's quite the enthusiast and loves to mod them and take me out to test them out. But it's time I buy my own, I want one of those scary looking assault rifles and a handgun or two. This is me trying his 1911 with some hot loads (forgot the grain).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K8yusmk ... g&index=11

We started to laugh because the girl next to us let out a slight scream after that thing went off.

There's two sides to every coin:

Book of Revelation, 13:10: "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints." (Rev.13:10 KJV)

Commonly, the expression is understood to mean, "You can expect to become a victim of whatever means you use to get what you want."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_by_the_sword,_die_by_the_sword

Any tool used for self-defense is no laughing matter. You should take your right to bear arms seriously.

Find a mentor who will teach you how to defend yourself, your family, and your community from a space of love and respect. Otherwise...you *will* get 13:10'd!

If you come across somebody who comes from a space of hate, greed, isolationism, racism, religious zealotry, and war mongering, run!

Find somebody who is spiritual, balanced, kind, and loving to teach you about your rights and the art of self-defense or you will be laughing yourself straight into your own destruction!

Lightnin as usual you have purposely scrambled and twisted what I've written so that you can denounce it.These things didn't happen to my family and I at no time mentioned that it or anything else was an act of God.From now on I'm not even going to rise to the bait.I've come to the conclusion that for some puzzling reason or another you have chosen to take just about everything I wrote and twist it so that you can critique it in the most obnoxious way.It would behoove you to read some of the writings of Norman Vincent Peale,I suggest that you start with "How To Win Friends and Influence People".I've been on this Forum for many years and you are the first person who has taken it upon himself to purposely scramble everything that I write until it is not at all what I originally wrote or meant to convey. I don't know why you chose to do these things but I do hope that you get well soon.God Bless.

BTW, "Repeal of the 2nd Amendment would not Abolish any Right"

http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2012/12/27/repeal-of-the-second-amendment-would-not-abolish-any-right/#more-20943

"...In the case of United States v Cruikshank, the United States Supreme Court held that the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights were not granted by the Amendments and are not dependent upon the Constitution for their existence. The Court also ruled that the Amendments were restraints on the powers of the federal government and it is the duty of States to secure the individual rights of the American people...

...The Second Amendment did not create or grant any right to keep and bear arms. It placed an additional restraint on the powers of the federal government concerning the existing right to keep and bear arms. Thus, all a repeal could do, from a federal standpoint, is remove the secondary restraint imposed on federal power by the Amendment. And since many States have a right to keep and bear arms clause in their constitution, separate and apart from the Federal Constitution or the Second Amendment, the existence or non-existence of the Second Amendment would not affect the right because the federal government was not granted and does not have the general power to abolish a natural or individual right secured by a State Constitution..."

It's a verrry interesting article, check it out!

Well, if you wish to infer that I'm some sort of a Troll simply for not marching in lock-step with what you've written, I guess there's nothing I can do about that...

But this is the FENDER FORUM, a place where people exchange OPINIONS on differing topics.

I respect your right to your opinion, kindly reciprocate...

I mentioned suspecting you of preaching from your 'SoapBox' at a time of Holiday and Good Cheer (which I thought to be in poor taste). I stand by that suspicion.

Wasn't it also you who started the thread around Thanksgiving on an extremely similar topic - An outrageous miscarriage of justice. : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=80764 ?? There does seem to be a commonality between these threads as if you're a one-note player on this subject...

You tried to 'personalize' it by bringing your children into the argument, which I countered by stating my own family's exposure to these things and mentioning that this was their (and your own children's) CHOSEN profession... along with it's associated ugliness.

We're linked by a love for the Guitar and so you honestly can't be a bad guy, but we all know your opinion on this other subject, so please give it a rest in future...

BTW, Norman Vincent Peale had NOTHING to do with: How to Win Friends and Influence People... that was written by Dale Carnegie and first published in 1936 !!

Peace Out !!

cheers!

Actually, this is the FENDER FORUM, a place where people exchange opinions on ONE subject:

The Fender Lounge
This forum is for open public discussion of all things Fender and general music-related subjects.

Point noted !

Perhaps this will also encourage the OP to discontinue his threads on Public Massacres by Madmen !

cheers!

Sorry but I disagree.

Personally, I could care less one way or the other should Brad lock this thread.

But, on principle alone, I don't believe members should call for ANY thread to be locked simply because they disagree with the topic or the replies.

If you don't like it, then simply pass over it and don't read it.

Brad is fully capable... and AUTHORIZED to control this forum without cries from the Peanut Gallery...

cheers!

I am sorry it offended you !

I'm finished with this thread, continuing would be counter-productive.

I posted this thread purely to call on people to send prayers and good will to the people affected by a tragedy at the holiest time of year as they will never be able to look forward to another Christmas and nothing more than that. It was others who took it upon themselves to turn it into an ugly verbal slugfest.I will no longer post anything on this topic as the original spirit in which it was written has been sullied and defiled by people who took it as an opportunity to voice opinions on gun control etc. which was far far from my intention.

I thought you had a valid and honorable post.
Personally IMHO, this post came from the right place, and I couldn't
Understand why such negative comments were brought up, and don't want
An explanation.
But I'm with you brother.
I only mentioned that brad should lock the thread because it went from a heartfelt
thread to something ugly. I wasn't calling anyone out.
