Can anyone tell me if Ness leaves his MXR Carbon Copy delay pedal on all the time? I was thinking of getting one of those pedals cause I use a blackface bassman with a Les Paul with p90's and I can't get the thick tone he has here:

I'm wondering if the delay pedal is used to make the guitar sound thicker.

Probably not.

That guitar sound isn't what I know to be a bassman sound. There is a bit more going on there. It definitely isn't amp only distortion. It sounds too defined and attacking to be a power section driven bassman. There is likely some generic type of treble booster going into it.
