Although I can't post a link,my absolute favourite Christmas songs are: "The Coventry Carol"-John Denver did a great job of it on his Rocky Mountain Christmas album but I have a great version of it sang by The Tallis Scholars-a choir that sings medieval and Elizabethan era songs. I absolutely love John Lennon's "Happy Christmas-The War Is Over", for years I couldn't listen to this beautiful song because I used to get so emotional after having John's death so close to Christmas, now I find the song very poignant but this is still at the top of my list.

There are Christmas songs that just turn me right off such as that abomination by UB40-"Mary's Boy Child" and also Mel Blanc's "The Hat I Got For Christmas Is Too Big".These songs were bad enough when they first came out but after being played to death every year, they are just repulsive to me.Christmas songs by Ann Murray and Rita MacNeil are also like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I must be getting dim in my old age,I completely forgot to mention the beautiful Christmas album by Celtic Woman-A Christmas Celebration.Their rendition of "O Holy Night" is by far the most incredible version of it that I've ever heard,I believe that Cloe Agnew does the lead vocals and she quite literally sounds angelic, her voice raises goosebumps on my arms every time I hear it,especially when she hits the incredibly high note near the end of it.The whole album is really a joy to listen to,their voices are so clear and beautiful. The CD is well worth buying just for "O Holy Night" but all the songs are incredible,as Celtic Woman fans know already anyway.

For those who aren't familiar with them, Celtic Woman is a group of 5 beautiful young Irish women who usually sing Celtic songs as their name suggests.Four of them handle the vocals while the fifth is an extremely gifted violinist. They are extremely popular in Newfoundland and Europe and I have seen them on PBS,so they must have a sizeable American following.

Thanks for putting up the link SBLS-have a great Christmas.

BTW: Doesn't her voice sound like you'd expect an angel's voice to sound like?

Tell ya something fellas.
Rollies band are far too shy.
From the odd snippet Ive seen they play classy aggressive rock n roll like all good bands should.

I wish he'd get something to share worldwide. Great band. The singer/guitarist is a wall of spitting defiance and the drummer is a thundering cacophony of rock n roll glee.
Then there's our Rollie, doing what every secretly awesome bassist does and tying the two together.
They really need to get something out there is a 30 second camera phone thing I've been privy to but God did I love it.
