Congrats lameandcliche. But 70 hours a week jeez. Now I feel lucky that I live in a country that has little bit of socialism mixed in with capitalism

Hahaha - in France they had rioting in the streets when Nicolas Sarkozy suggested raising the 35 hour working week to 38 hours!

Do we live to work or work to live...?

Cheers - C

Recently I answered a poll from Callup (for my union I think) that included these 2 following questions:

What defines who you are?
- your job
- family
- hobbies
- friends
- Other

What do you think is the most important in your life?
- your job
- family
- friends
- other

Now it takes alot to offend me, but those two I thought were very inappropriate

I definitely work to live, not the other way around. and I'm definitely doing this for my family, my wife and daughter. theyre definitely the most important thing ever. don't misunderstand. i'm only doing this because the money is ridiculous. and don't plan on making it a permanant thing. I figure I can do this for a month or two, find something else, or go on disability after my freakin' arms fall off from all this work.
had my first day today. the welds are easy, but it's all standing in one place and doing the same thing over and over and over... last count i heard i'd made some 450 parts just today in ten hours. maybe i should've taken it slower on my first day. i'm exhausted already. crap.
but, they're already talking about MAYBE getting sunday off as well as monday and tuesday, so things might already be getting better. hopefully i started just at the right time and we really will get the hours cut back just a bit. and Ceri, there are already two shifts workin around the clock... and 2nd shift runs for 12 hours. craziness.
apparently the company who did make these parts is sooo behind that nissan has taken it upon themselves to get the parts made and send them to said company to assemble the final product (the seats).... very weird environment. so big. so many people. half-finished cars going over top of you all day on some kind of track system. very high-tech.

Oh men I love these mega factories shows on National Geography. My car broke down the other day and I had to take it to the Toyota retailer to get it fixed. They really take care of their customers there, they offer customers a free ride home while the car is in the shop and back when it is finished. I was waiting for my ride in a area where they had free internet, coffee and baked goods, the papers, and the best, Mega factories on a big screen. They were showing the Tesla car factory, it was simply amazing.
