It is a cool guitar in some ways. I suspect at that price, the seller will enjoy it for years to come.

Was the Adolf's Hitler guitar or something like that?
I wonder whose signature is that guitar. I could place my signature and sell it for 50.000$ :D

This is the second add I've seen today with outrageous prices with a vague description. And it is not the same seller.Maybe I should gather up some of my junk and post them as $20,000 collector items. All I need in one sucker.

Here's one from the Delusions of Grandeur Department:
Vintage Guitar Magazine: Feb 2013: pg. 75 URH corner:
'For sale by owner: 1959 Les Paul Standard....$650.000'Ad pictures owner in his 'yute' and present day, with the guitar. It may be a factor of the photo, but the present day guitar's finish is twice as dark as the original.

Man, I thought we were done with ever hearing that tools name again. But this does sound a lot like how the turd posted.

If I read it correctly then the shipping adds another 100,000 ... but of course it's hand delivered.

Nope, it's been relisted and the shipping has gone up to $195,000 dollars.

The listing is definitely 'unusual', but I have to admit, I think the guitar itself is very cool. It definitely has a lot of elements in common with GC's Wolf and Tiger, all the early Alembic guitars come to think of it. Can't see it fetching what they did though, they only went for what they did because of the GC provenance.

Poor guitar needs some love too! I'd obviously buy it, but I dread to think how much delivery to the UK would be, if it's that much to US mainland...

Otherwise it is very affordable. :P

I know the seller claims to be a 'physician' who received the guitar in payment for services. That's quite a fee. I wouldn't have minded having his patient base. There's also something in the narrative and the medical history which reminds me of Leslie West's present condition. He also suffered a lower extremity amputation as a complication of diabetes. :? Hmmmmm.

What a crock of la merde this guy is shooting. He has a pretty high opinion of himself if it costs you an extra $195,000 to have the honor of him hand delivering it to you. The only time that this guy had anything close to having medical training of any kind was probably playing "Doctor" as a kid.It may be a nice $800- $1,000 guitar but Jerry Garcia's actual guitars sold for much less than what he's asking at auction if my memory serves me correctly.

This is one of the questions sent to the seller and the seller's answer.

Quote:
Come with a case?
muff4pres2012 : Yes. The guitar comes with a hard-shell case.And a free pick!Merry Christmas!

A free pick? Is that a joke?

He named the guitar "The Joker". This has to be a joke.

Huh.
Ad says "5 pickups." I counted three - check the height adjust screws.

"Other two went for $1,000,000."
Don't think so.
The most ever paid for a guitar was the $2million for the Peter Green/Gary Moore Les Paul. After that, I believe second place is still the black Jimi Hendrix Strat @ about $275,000?

$400,000 delivery?
I wouldn't pay that much even if it was being delivered by Jenna Jameson, Jill Kelly & Pamela Anderson with a barrel of baby oil and a years supply of condoms and viagra.

If he/she is THAT 'charismatic' to be able to charge that much, then why doesn't he/she just get the Boss, The Stones et al to do a fund raiser for him?

I'm not aware of the Peter Green guitar but if so,Clapton's Blackie and SRV's Lenny should be next on the list in that descending order. Including the buyer's premium Blackie went over $1million, and Lenny well over $750K at the Crossroads Auction in '04.

Ahem...Erics Blackie sold for $959K plus a buyers Premium, his 64 Gibson ES 335 he used throughout his career went for $847,500 at Auction. The most ever paid for a Gibson Guitar and the second most ever paid for a guitar.

There seems to be some confusion about the Peter Green guitar, it was sold to Makn Music for $300K but I couldn't find any documentation that it was sold, only rumors it sold for $2M. There was also a Wikapedia post that says a Stratocaster signed by artists that played for the Asian Tsunami Relief Concert (including EC) sold for $2.6 but had no documentation so I think we are safe to say it is still the two Clapton guitars and SRV Lenny for the top sellers!
