Is this for real?

The "Buy It Now" is over $48k. I'm no expert but I think it's a stretch to value this thing at more that $1,000.00.

But what do I know.

Opinions?

I wouldn't give $10 for that thing. Just reading the description is enough to scare anyone with common sense away. If you're going to sell something for $48K, you better be able to prove it's worth that! He couldn't even nail down a make or a date. 1800's??? There were some nice guitar makers around in the early 1800's. C.F. Martin comes to mind. That thing looks like it was homemade with a pocket knife by Uncle Homer out in the barn. Now maybe if it's from let's say the 1400's and came over with Columbus or something. But still....

It's not worth it just because of how old it is. It's probably on its last legs anyhow.

But, if you could pick that thing up at a yardsale by dropping a $20 on it, by all means, grab it. It's a unique piece that shows just how far guitars have come.

That was actually closer to my opinion. I was just giving the benefit of the doubt.

Looks more likely whittled by uncle Homer in the !920's or 1930's to me.

Heck, I'd buy it in a flash... if it wasn't missing so dang many parts and pieces.

My Buy-It-Now button only goes up to about $99...

Forty-eight large, huh?

Les'see now......

Behind this door we have an unidentifiable piece of crap, made by who knows who out of God knows what sometime within the last two centuries.

And behind this door we have a brand new Lexus V8 sedan with every bell, every whistle, and every electrically-powered widget known to man.

Which will our savvy contestant choose......?

(cue game-show theme song)

I'm sorry, but I'm not a suburban housewife. I'll take the guitar over the Lexus.
