my old boss pedal has had it. i need a new chorus or something else that sounds "pretty" on the clean channel. a good, basic, durable pedal. i don't go overboard with the effect i just like a subtle shimmer when playing clean. just give me somewhere to start before i go on a wild goose chase. i trust ya'll.
i'm ahead of the money game for a change. i've got a 6 week run starting next week that pays really well. i'm not getting any younger. Christmas gifts are paid for. its also our 11th wedding anniversary. i have a really bad case of G.A.S. and this is just the appetizer.
i am the most selfish person i know.

Lotsa good ones out there. You need to go try and compare some. After playing several, I found that the Wampler Nirvana Chorus/Vibrato pleases me. It is warm and lush, with great versatility and control.
Just for the fun of it, If you haven't already checked it out, go to Strymon.net and look at the videos of the Lex, their Leslie simulator pedal. A bit more pricey, but looks to be an exceptional instrument. I haven't tried one, but am hoping to sometime.

Danelectro has a great chorus pedal in its Cool Cat series.I have one and I can guarantee you that you won't find anything that comes near it in its price range and I doubt that you'll find many as good unless you're willing to pay a lot more.I paid about $60 for mine. The Cool Cat has everything from a subtle and gentle modulation to a full on Leslie-Gone-Mad pulsating warble and the speed can go from machine gun rapid to a really slow modulation that takes seconds to complete one sweep..Before I got my Tech 21 RotoChoir,I used the Danelectro exclusively to get the Lesley/Univibe effect for doing Hendrix covers like "Angel","Little Wing","Star Spangled Banner" and "Machine Gun". It's the best pedal in the under $150 price range that I've heard for doing Lesley/Univibe emulations and they are pretty well bullet proof in the heavy metal case that they're built in.

I use a Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus. I can easily dial in just a touch of chorus to help fill the background whithout effecting by bass sound.
I don't know if their guitar chorus pedal is as good, but I've tried other bass chorus pedals and I'll stick with this one.

I have an older (japanese) BOSS Bass Chorus and it works very well on guitar. The Bass Chorus does not chorus the fundamentals; only the harmonics. It's a very useful effect. You don't lose the punch and snap of having no chorus but you still get a top end shimmer.

+1 on the Dano Cool Cat; my buddy has one and it sounds great for a simple effect.

On that note, when I was looking around for a chorus, I considered the one-knob MXR Micro Chorus, because I'm also into a subtle shimmer effect. I think they run about $80 new.

thanx everyone for the quick responses. i mean that.
i'm about to fire up the bike and hit the annual toy run here in dallas/fort worth. after that i'll hit the local GC and try out the danelectro and the mxr. both sound exactly like what i'm looking for. simple, basic and sturdy.
thanx again.

If it's not too late, i'd spend some time with a small clone if I were you. I love mine. I also love the fact that I found it on CL for 30 bucks. :)

+1 on the Cool Cat, I've had one of the original ones for years, does a good job. Not the best chorus pedal I've owned, but not far off, and it's reliable enough for stomping on repeatedly. Really stupid shape though, takes up far more space on a pedalboard than it has any right to.

Also, scan the used market for an old (not the new one! Not the same at all) Arion SCH-1 - absolutely superb pedal, used by a lot of very big names despite it only costing about the same as a large sandwich when new.

They're plastic, but they've survived pretty well, and they do the shimmery chorus thing better than a lot of the modern boutique pedals. Slip someone a few notes to rehouse it and add true bypass if you want, and you'd have one of the nicest chorus pedals you can buy regardless of cost.

I had a 1981 CE-2.. lush like you wouldn't believe. Really picked up the nuances of the clipping on my MIJ SD-1.

I sold it because it was a chorus pedal.

I have a Fender Starcaster I picked up on sale over the summer for $25. For an inexpensive pedal, it's very, very nice.

What I have been using, mostly for subtle effect myself, is a Behringer UC-200 stereo Ultra Chorus. The price was low and it works well enough.

I've a one off Wilkinson Chorus that is about as much use as any other chorus (the lot of em are useless in my op. Not an effect I'll ever use).

Anyway, you can have it Jeebus, if you come round to collect and give my goat redeye.
Sorry for the stipulation. But it's a very rare pedal that is never going to hit the open market.
