To recap, this is a replacement for 1st the
Gold top with a crack on the base of the neck.
2nd the iced tea that passed through the QA,
But fretboard was terrible, few other issues.
3rd times a charm....
Heritage cherry burst traditional plus

Very, very nice guitar. I couldn't resist the prices on the outgoing 2012 models and I just bought one of those last week - also in the cherry-burst, as a Christmas present to myself. It's still in hiding, though, until I figure out a way to say thanks to the lovely Mrs. Midlife.

Thanks
The other one is my buddy's, it's a custom shop 68 RI. It's sweet.
Went to jam a while last night his Mancave.
He has a two rock studio pro 35 head two rock 2x12 cab,
Two rock Jet 35 combo (loud little cereal box)
A divided by 13 11 watt combo, can't remember the name
65 DRRI , and a Marshall JVM 410, 4x12 cab,
I was in candy land....
+numerous of strats and other gibsons
Let me tell you, two rock has the best clean I've ever heard.
And takes pedals very well.
Imagine the DRRI tone with clearer notes, very nice note diction...

Hi bluesstrattone: nice Gib! Gotta love that front - congrats. :D

So. I guess you're bored with the old one then, huh? Shame to leave it sitting around: ready to let it go for a song? Les Paul Customs are the BIZ!

Cheers - C

Ceri, haha, that custom is awesome, but its not mine, that's my friends.
I only have the traditional. But it's so awesome...
I'm still a Strat guy, but more like blueslespaulstrattone...
I've had Lester's before , but this one I've connected with a lot quicker.
This one has a neck the same thickness as my hot rod 62 Strat.

Blue - I read about your trials and tribulations with the three versions over on the Gibson site and came to an interesting realization... I was looking at these for quite a few weeks, but each time one became available at SW, by the time I'd acted, it was gone. It now appears that you were one step ahead of me on at least the iced tea and the cherry burst. I finally called MF and ordered one from them (they were nice enough to match the SW price, even!).

Anyway, glad it worked out for you and that we both have beautiful cherry-burst LPs now.

Yours in midlife...

P.S. Just noticed you have a '62 hot rod strat... me too, now this is getting weird.

What an amazing guitar the HR 62 Strat is.
Midlife, glad it worked out for you too. When I ordered the iced tea
The had 4 GT 4 HCB 4 iced tea and 4 DB
A week later only a handful left, my HCB was the last one...

Hey bluesstrattone! Congrats, bee-u-tee-full guitar!!!

I just had a similar experience with Gibson. I ordered an SG Special Worn. The guitar was utterly, utterly amazing, but...the neck wasn't set correctly. The replacement arrived and was utterly, utterly amazing too but one tuner screw hole on each tuner was too wide so one screw on each tuner wouldn't catch, the nut had a square channel cut into the D string slot, plus the string slot cut, and the frets sprouted. I switched up to the Standard and got a prime specimen!

What really, really impressed me about my Gibson experience was my contact with Gibson. They admitted they were having issues, fixed the issues and would do whatever it took to get a Gibson quality guitar in my hands; "Don't worry, we got you covered brother!"

The price on the Standard...$799.00 w/ HSC, shipped, no tax. The deal of the year, for sure!

Gibson and American Musical Supply treated me real well -- I am tickled pink!!!

A Richard Betts special.

Very tasteful, very elegant.
