I figured we could have some fun.

Record something short, but no picks allowed. Just thumb.

(also, this is the Invader, clean with reverb)

Cool idea. I only have things with me using my forefinger. I rarely use a pick and have no recordings of me using one. Are forefingers allowed? :D

I guess, doesn't do it for me. I'll see about doing something thumby. Thanks for getting back to me.

So here is Thumbthing for Buxom: Modern Player Jaguar, Mustang1, British 60's high gain with a 4x12 greenbacks cab.

Something, or should I say thumbthing, I took off of a noodling around idea from here:
http://kiwi6.com/file/hc3hqsq8or

It was all played with my forefinger, no pick, so don't listen to it. Besides, it is just top of my head stuff and I'm a bass player.

I swear this is your best recording post B. Not the thumb part, but your fretting hand is obviously getting much better. Nice job.

Does it count if I put my thumb between my first and second fingers and hold it like a pick?

How is it getting better? It's the same old things, just different strings.

But yea, that counts.

Less dead notes, overall clearer fretting and easier to listen to. It's not your strings, it's your fingers.

I quickly realized that while it seemed like a good approach, my thumb is not long enough to clear my knuckles effectivly, so it turned into a knuckle jam which really sucked. Back to the drawing board with a staright thumb approach.

Well, the main reason for a "dead note" was from my line in being overloaded and becoming hazy. I mic'd this. this is how I'm doing it from now on too. I just had to get more clever.

nice playing, do you practice with the metronome?
If no, then start doing it. Your rhythm isn't flowing smoothly
