I could not find any topic regarding the upcoming summer festivals, so I figured I'd make one. Do you guys know any cool festivals this summer, and if so which and where? Is someone going to any particular event?

I'm going to Hard Rock Calling in London on June 28 and 29. It's in Hyde Park and Eric Clapton, the Police, John Mayer and Robert Randolph are among the people playing. Can't wait! :D

The Hyde Park festival is going to be very good especially with Clapton and The Police playing. Being from England, I'm doing quite a few gigs this year. If you like metal, I'd reccomend Download festival at Donington Park. Check it out. http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk

I doubt I am going to any festivals this year, but I wish I could go to the following:

Download Festival
Warped Tour
Ozzfest
and most of all, Wacken Open Air in Germany

I go to a lot of music events during the summer. In the town where I have my mountain home.........they do a weekly free concert with all kinds of local bands. In fact.......if someone's band wants to play for a night....they give them access to the stage.

One of my favorite music events in the summer is the Sonora Blues Festival, which is usually in August. It goes from 10am to 10 pm, with lots of good bands playing. You can get an idea of this event by going to www.fireonthemountain.com and looking up past years and all the different bands that have played, as well as what's up for this year.

Also I'll probably go to hear Los Lonely Boys. I've had people tell me that they put on a fantastic show.

All the good shows are in Portland (4 hour drive), San Francisco (6 hour drive),
or Los Angeles (12 Hour drive).

So --no, with gas prices on the west coast, I'll be waiting impatiently for a Medford show :(

I live in the San Francisco Area.........so I'll be well wet up for this summer. I don't even need to drive far.

So you'll also be demonstrating/partying this Saturday? 8) (first saturday in may  ) http://www.globalmarijuanamarch.org/
(Brad, please remove the link if it violates forum rules)

And back on topic, I'm going to Roskilde Festival, Neil Young is playing, that's all I know, but festivals aren't necessarily abut the music 8)

I've just been on a Blues Harp Fest.
There's an International Jazz Festival in a couple of weeks.
And a Blues Fest in June.

Very nice, but you guys can't really come, can you?

Oh, yeah and I'm going to see Bob Dylan on 13th June 8)
