It's pretty much finals week at my school, and I haven't had too much time to play guitar this past month. Right now I'm procrastinating a little on the internet, as my brain feels like overused play-doh and does not feel like writing a paper or doing any sort of constructive thing at all.

Anyways, are there any other college kids here? What sort of thing do you guys play? Can you afford decent gear?

Sophomore here.

I'm actually really busy on campus. Work 2 different jobs for a few hours a week so I dont get to play as much as I would like but its becoming more of a focus.

I brought my acoustic with me because it takes up less space but I think I am about to say screw it and bring up an amp just because the acoustic doesn't do it for me anymore.

Yep, college kid here too. Currently a freshman, sophomore next semester. I get to play a decent amount, actually taking a 1-on-1 guitar class next semester, pretty excited about that. I don't live in a dorm or anything, currently with my girlfriend and her family, so I've got room for my guitars (which are currently being used to keep the dogs off the couch  ) and my amp. Probably won't have much time to play soon though after I get another job with more hours.

It'd be interesting to know people's majors. I'm just in community college now, getting my generals done with, but when I go to SIU I'll be double majoring in History and Literature.

Speaking of finals... I really need to start studying...

I used to do the only-acoustic thing at college, but the only good acoustic I have has high action that isn't super comfortable but I haven't had time to really work on that. Eventually I started really missing electric and I brought an old Washburn SS amp with me, my pedals, and one of my teles with me. I live in a dorm, so my neighbors get to appreciate my music during my free time. Unfortunately, I don't get a whole lot of free time, between the big long papers I write as part of the English major and the non-academic activities on campus.

My major is Visual Community Technology or VCT for short. Doesn't relate to music but it allows me to continue to be creative. I'd consider checking it out if you get the chance. Photoshop is fun.

If electric is your thing, and you don't want to disturb the peace, you can always pick up a multi fx with a headphone out. See em all the time pretty cheap on CL. You don't need anything fantastic, the purpose is to just practice and then have the choice of fx. Or if you have a phone out on an amp, you can use the pedals you have. Did that for years, and sometimes still do. BTW a long way from college here.

I'm also in college right now, sophomore. Finals are killing me right now haha and I definitely haven't had as much time to play. But I'm currently in nashville right now so there are lots of music opportunities :D as far as guitars, i have both my acoustic and electric with me. i primarily play acoustic anyway, so it hasn't been that big of a deal. i have a danelectro mini amp for my electric. costs 20 bucks i think, so not a bad option. it also has a headphone jack. of course the problem with the danelectro is that it has such a limited sound :(

I feel sorry for you, man! I am still getting over my last final and I am seriously considering using writemyessay next semester to get at least few hours of rest or good sleep.
