I just got some Planet Wave cables to try. So far, so good. I've never gave much thought to cables, just as long as they work properly and don't sound like arse. I suppose I've paid more attention to string choice, as far as my sound is concerned.

Cables with a lifetime guarantee. I have a Monster bass cable , a Mogami bass cable, a Live Wire instrument cable and some Live Wire patch cables. I have replaced a Mogami bass cable and a Live Wire instrument cable, both free at GC. :D

I've used Monster cables in a studio. Those seemed to be pretty good. If I have extra cash I might pick up a few of those. The Planet Waves have a lifetime guarantee, as well.

SBLS...+1...Monsters have served me for 25+ years and I think I still have one of the first ones I got, and you can't beat thier replacement policy! I have heard great things with respect to the Mogami's as well and same replacement policy.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Spectraflex for me.

Bought my main one about 18 years ago, and it's suffered more abuse than I can think, including having massive PA stands stood on it, run over by a van, immersed in various liquids, and generally twisted, stepped on and tortured. Not one single problem, and I know that when that time finally comes, I can still get it replaced with a new one, no questions asked. I'll be sad if it dies, as I've had it so long and done so many gigs and sessions with it that it's become almost a good luck charm.

It also introduced a bass player to the world of decent cables by making him do a double take at his rig when he nabbed it to soundcheck with one day instead of his usual generic cheapo cable, and suddenly everything sounded twice as clear as it usually did.

+1. I've got all Spectraflex now-sound great and as you say, indestructable. I had all kinds of things happen to my others, including the drummer's cymbal falling on one (a Monster) and slicing it in half. Freak accidents. My Spectraflex ones, no damage from anything, and like the braided look.

So do I, but if I had known my main cable would have lasted 18 years, I wouldn't have picked the stupid black, green and yellow braid!

Guys, guys: it's not the brand that matters so much as being able to wear it with style.

I want what he's having.

If I had that fellows' rig, I'd probably be walking in circles, too. Infact, I often catch myself doing the same thing during those heated musical moments.

A lot of people have come to frown on those coily cables. If there really is any degredation in sound, the extra mojo more than makes up for it. 8)

'Zactly! 8)

I'm told that these days there are coily cables that give reasonable quality sound too. But then that's hardly the point...

I use the right angle plugging into the bass jack. I've never had a problem with any of their cables. Instrument, or speaker cables.

Vox vintage coils very often.
