Me too.

Does anyone get put off if "Sienna Sunburst" is refered to as cherry burst?

Love those amps.

I don't have anything vintage, but I do play through my Deluxe Reissue, and it's just made for sunburst guitars... :)

Sunbursts ALWAYS sound better through a Fender Tube amp

Just to show how unbiased I am given my dislike of sunbursts, here's my current Number One, fresh in the case after this morning's rehearsal and complete with rather less fretboard lacquer than it left the factory with thanks to rather a lot of fevered fretting over the years. She's had a hard life since she left the factory in 1992.

(Bonus points for anyone who can correctly identify the tremolo. Yes, it's obviously a Wilkinson, but which Wilkinson? )

Hard to be sure, because I think you've still got it on the original Fender pivot posts and the tops of the Wilkinson posts are sometimes a clue to the exact model. Still, it looks earlier than the VS100 so by elimination is it the VS50? Or VS50MkII, maybe?

Go on, amaze us and tell us it's a never-before-heard-of VS25 prototype...

Whatever: I love Wilkinson VS bridges. The VS400 is my current default bridge of choice. Ve-e-e-ery nice.

Cheers - C

Nope, those are the Wilky posts which came with it from new - it's rather an old one.

Here's a clue - the tremolo arm costs about £90 to replace, if you can even find one.

Ah... So is it a VS100-Convertible?

That's the one.

Absolute genius idea - but an absolute pain in the posterior to set up properly. Change string brand, and you have to do it all again as the locking point has drifted by a fraction of a mm and it now decides you'd really love to go about a quarter tone flat when you release the bar. First encountered the system on an old Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro I had back in the early 90's, and tend to retrofit them to anything with two posts ever since.

Lifesaver live though - break a string, and everything stays in tune. Not to mention being able to bend strings without the others going flat. One day I'll even remember that it's a left hand thread on the bar when screwing it in!

(Weirdly, the VS100CV is not allowed to be sold in the US. There go my hopes of ever getting a Fender signature model. )
