Ok, so I have no imagination where it comes to colors, but I love the shite out of Fender American Standard sunburst instruments.

2011 Tele, 2012 Jazz Bass, 2008 Strat

I half expected to see a FireStorm guitar when I clicked into this thread.

Seriously though, very nice guitars. I sometimes wish I had a sunburst, maybe that will lead to another guitar one day.

Some people have an issue with sunburst finish. Kinda like they get turned off by it. I don't understand that. I love it! I like solid colors too, but I just don't seem to get tired of 2 or 3 tone sunburst. Especially when you can see some wood grain in it. The only other finish that I don't get burned out on eventually is white (any shade). Nice Guitars!!

Thanks, guys. I didn't really like sunburst that much when I was younger, but that changed. Yeah, I like being able to see the wood grain. My Gibby Les Paul is a honey burst--got that too so I could see the wood grain (and I'm in love with it and the guitar).

My very first Fender was a sunburst, a 1971 Tele that I bought shortly after I got out of the army. The second Fender I bought was another sunburst Tele, this time a 1994 American Standard.

You know, I don't really like sunburst that much, but every single one of my Fenders is sunburst - every time I've gone guitar shopping, the one which stuck out as sounding better than all the others happens to have had a sunburst finish so I've had no choice in the matter.

Must be your subconscious sense of aesthetics--way down inside, you need and love sunbursts. :D

I prefer the burst when they softly bleed from brown to red to yellow, like water color, and not when they appear to have three distinct bands. I also prefer them darker. There's not a consistency in this finish either.

Are we allowed to broaden it out a bit? I love a nice tobacco-burst:

......and the Sienna Bursts as well, I suppose....with the proper grain of wood, of course.

I love all of Fender's bursts. That tobacco is a beauty. I love the darkness of the bursts I own. I can still the the grain, but they're a little darker than the bursts I've seen elsewhere.
