So I've had my eye on a new FB-58 for a while, advertised price has been $699 for quite a while (6 months).

So a few weeks ago I see a "$50 Holiday Savings" go up, and bingo - I bought it. $699 - $50 = $649.......right?

Wrong. Now they tell me the $50 is already "calculated into the price". Bottom line - the distributor gets the $50.

Is this the standard practice?

Jim, bottom line is that you got your Banjo & that is all that counts. Maybe you did pay a little to much, but so what. Congrats & play your hart out. Maybe send us a little sample. 8)

LOL. Everything is negotiable. Stop overpaying for guitars. Everything is 15% off if you just ask and make it clear you'll walk if you don't get the discount.

How about speakers? Some are almost 50% off of MSRP and some are 6%.
BTW. Thanks for the heads up on negotiating.
