When you're biologically old enough to be a grandparent, and there's those old enough to be your parent. Other words, me and some of you. :P Seriously though, that's a really strange concept to me, because mentally I feel like I'm still 21. Well, maybe a lot wiser, I hope. Music keeps you young.

When you wonder if you should buy concert tickets when you expect to stand out in the crowd as being the oldest one there on or off stage.

The irony is the young crowd with the old seasoned rockers on stage.

So I used to go to this club called "The Funky Phish" in Bay Shore Long Island (anyone else?) This place brought in a really young crowd. Like 'probably shouldn't be allowed into a bar' young. I was one of the old heads but have a bit of a baby face and don't dress old so I can usually blend pretty well.

There was this other guy though - he looked like a 1980s rock and roll cliché. Totally stood out, with his long rock & roll hair and the whole look. But somehow because he just was what he was, he became a part of the scenery. You expected to see the guy there. Maybe those kids laughed the first time they saw him but he still fit in.

Don't let anything keep you from going to see live music. You will fit in.

I don’t ever have a problem with my baby face and hip wife. In fact the younger ones are very nice to mingle with. No disrespect ladies, but I find it’s the odd 40 to 50ish cougars with their tweenie attire that often stand out from the crowd. Of course, that's Intended, but not always in a good way. That’s okay with me as long as everyone is having a great time which is the whole point of going.

I’m finding that I’m going to smaller venues at casinos or theatres (such as our old theatre named after Burton Cummings) nowadays as even major acts are doing that circuit, and they can be very good, reasonably priced, and they give a closer experience with a mixed crowd including us old timers.

I’ve taken in some, but little, clubbing usually with show people related company which can include family members. That’s always good because it runs the gamut with the ages and association.

Thanks, for your encouragement, Ghost. Live music should be shared by everyone as you pointed out.
