I got a new guitar today. This is my first non-Fender guitar purchase in 5 years. Its a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Studio Fireburst. It plays very well. It's also a total tone-monster. A very basic Gibson for the no frills player. I absolutly love it. All for the low price of 549.00 straight out of the box.

I've owned one very similar to that. It was wine red w/gold hardware but otherwise pretty much the same.

Very smooth playing guitar and a solid, classic, humbucking tone.

My only complaint was the balance - I was constantly having to hold onto the neck. It wasn't enough to be any kind of noticeable strain but if I let go of the neck it would start to go down.

That would be agreat score for $100 more than you paid... so that one rates a SCHWEET! on the T2 Scale!

Every loyal Fender freak should have at least one Gibson in his arsenal. That way no one can claim your bias. 8) You picked a nice one, enjoy.

Beautiful guitar and outstanding deal. I have a studio and paid 800.00 for it. Great sound, faded brown. My telecaster is the only electric I have that is shiny. All my others are flat finishes.
