A few days ago I discovered a site called Greasy Groove Inc. and was very impressed with their selection of pickguards, backplates etc. I went on their site today and not only discovered that they are a Canadian company but they are right next door in Amherst Nova Scotia. My 50th Ann. Strat and my Tele both have their pickguards autographed by Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives so I don't want to risk them getting smudged or obliterated and I ordered 2 new guards.

For the Strat I ordered a yellow snake skin guard that's an actual photo of a snake skin and the shade of yellow matches the yellow in the sunburst exactly. The Tele pickguard is a black and white op-art psychedelic abstract of swirling cubes and that would suit the Wine colour of the Tele really well. The guards only cost $23 and $34 respectively and the cost of mailing was under $10.

If you are looking for a way to doll up your guitars on the cheap check these guys out, they even have dozens of static cling decals that won't mess up your guitar with gooey residue. You can reach them here: http://www.greasygroove.com the have an extensive inventory but it's very easy to navigate through it because of the way they have the categories configured.

Thanks for the heads-up, D!

Their store looks like it has some cool other stuff too.

I've had a link to GreasyGroove on my site for over two years.

Hi guitslinger: cool company, thanks for the link.

Always good to find things you haven't seen elsewhere. Some of their graphic pickguards are neat. I think this would look, erm, eye-catching on a plain white Strat body:

Let me know how those pickguards are cut when you get them in... I ordered a truss rod cover from them a while back and it was cut with no bevel on the edge, I'm curious if they do thier pickguards the same way.

I did get a set of the etched humbucker pickup covers, those were pretty sweet. They have some cool knobs that I haven't found elsewhere, too. They seem like an okay place to deal with.
