30 yrs ago my best friend went thru the windshield of a car and laid unconsious on the hood for about an hr before medical help.....when the hospital realized his parents' didn't have insurance he was sent home 90% comatose and was put in the livingroom where they could watch him.
when I heard about the wreck I remembered his stereo was on the fritz and took my "boom-box" w/fresh batteries to his house & asked his folks if I could set it up beside him, to which they said yes.
as soon as he heard the music he opened an eye & smiled at me.....I left the boom-box w/him until he recovered fully, which was quickly considering his injuries.
he told me that "your boom box saved my life", which I think he was exaggerating, but i DO think it helped him recover so quickly.
