If you have a better solution, I'm sure Brad and the rest of us would love to hear it.

I agree with Ceri. We can't penalise genuine new users posting pic's because of one persistent troll. Think of all the new user joining up to share the news of their latest purchase, followed by their 24 post response after one of us said "Pic's or it didn't happen"

Perhaps, this particular issue is simply solved with an increase in Mod response time. Brad has effectively halved this by adding Rob. I for one am more than happy to see the power of the Schwartz in action!

Good stuff!

I don't. I think it's a real problem.

However, I noticed last time round he posted three times under his latest identity, all his usual stuff. That time nobody replied and the thread gradually slipped down the page till Brad got to it with the zap button.

Like most of these people he does it to get a reaction and if we ignore him he's less able to be toxic. Easy to say and tough to do: he's so obnoxious we're itching to tell him what's what - I've certainly given in to that temptation, so I'm in no position to preach.

Still. Move on and leave Brad to do his thing, is the inadequate answer. Frustrating, I know.

Cheers - C

I don't.

...Or come to think of it, maybe I do.

Mr Firestorm posts the same few photos again and again. If the titles of those .jpgs was blocked it would spoil some of his fun, at least for a while. Would adding the .jpg names to the list of banned "naughty" words do that job?

Brad will know.

Cheers - C

Thanks Brad.

This is a great forum and although I'm fairly new here, I feel like family.

Go TEXANS!

That's the goal of all of this, right there! Those who keep it fun and family-like are the heart and soul of the place.

Appoint more moderators. A lot of people here have stepped up to the plate, myself included. We just need our "badges"

Honestly at this point we now have 5 employees involved: myself, Rob, Mike Eldred, and two fine folks moderating our high-tech amps sections as well. We've also spoken in this thread about plans for better software and increased spam control. If these elements prove to be not enough we'll certainly continue to evaluate but just to set realistic future expectations - as a general rule, moderation controls are only going to be assigned to folks with whom I have actual real-life interactions daily ... which naturally tends to really limit the playing field!

Why, though? If someone on here has a good track record, as in no previous suspensions or bans, shouldn't they be given a chance?

Do what the folks at Jagex did, they have 2 different levels of moderators for the forums and games, Jagex Employee Mods, and Player/Forum Mods. I think the system would work if you got the right people to do the job.

The thing is you have to bare in mind that this forum is directly involved with a global corporation, not a fan site or enthusiast forum set up with no relation to a company. They can't afford to be giving power to people they don't actually know on the basis that they appear trustworthy and proper online. I'm not for a second accusing anyone of this but it is very very easy to manipulate and put over a different persona to what you actually are online.

With all due respect Buxom.. to Brad you are a random 16-year old kid. He's politely given you the straight reason. No need to push the issue.
