I went to my PhotoBucket account this morning to tap into my pictures and I found that PB had made the switch on me! All of my album pics on one continuous page isn't too bad, but switching from one album to another is very annoying, especially when I can't even FIND two of my old albums! Crap!

Another major annoyance is that I can no longer hold my mouse pointer over the picture and have the info and links come up. I have to click on the picture and bring it up to get the links, all of which takes more time and more steps. One step forward and two steps back for good old PB.

I had tried the "new" PB a while back, but disliked it and switched back to the old version. No such luck anymore. Sad to say, it may be time to make the switch to another vendor. What a pain in the arse.

+1, this actually took a while for me to find. Since I only upload images once in a while I don't really mind all that much, but it certainly is an annoyance.

About a week ago I couldn't access my photos on PB for several days. I opened a Flickr account and used it to post some photos. I guess because it was new to me, I didn't find their interface all that intuitive. My PB account started working again and I'm probably going to stick with that for the time being. But, I do hate it when any site forces you to adapt their latest hairbrain idea. I'd join a luddite club, but apparently they don't have a facebook page. Go figure!

Webshots (which I had used and loved) did the same thing. Webshots is being shut down and being replaced with a stupid thing called "Smile". Virtually everyone hates it. If you download their interface,it takes EVERY SINGLE photo you have on your computer and puts them on line whether you wanted them on line or not. They have deleted all of my albums and just put every photo in one stream. I had over 9000 photos and finding a particular photo is impoassible. People are quitting in droves. Problem is, they say that they can't process credit cards yet so you can tell then you want to quit but there is no guarantee that you will ever get your money back. I have created a pro Flickr account and so far that is working out OK.

I hate it. And too be honest it is the same problem we ALWAYS have with computer crap...they change it so you have to buy something new...only problem, it is never better, just fricking different :!: :!: :!:

I hit their feedback button and gave em an earful...I will probably open a flicker account and move my photos there...but they will probably do the same thing!

ARRRGGGHHH is Right!

I am not enamored of PB either. I just opened an account to post gear photos here. With that being said, things I can use for free get some slack from me. I am mindful that many of these places could be vast data gathering sites. I am just mindful of what I share with the government, LOL.

Like Tex above, I agree with it letting me post nice pics of my gear. So I will do just that.

I hope putting my SCX2 up in different places is not spamming. Whaddya think Bluesky? I value your sense of propriety.

I've been accused of a lot of things but having a "sense of propriety" has never been one of them.

Nice looking amp.

This really stinks for me,I'm a Luddite when it comes to computers anyway and finally with lots of help from fellow forum member Blinkers,I was almost getting the hang of P.B.,now I have to start a new learning process.

Oh, my God, Bill! I can only imagine what would happen if all those nude shots of me and the wife (stored conveniently on my hard drive) ever hit the Internet.

Yes, I can still use it, but why in the world do site programmers think they need to "upgrade" something that is working just fine as it is? My ISP completely changed the format of their email program, which I found beyond irritating and nearly non-functional. I am not with them anymore. If it WORKS, leave it the hell alone!

My Photobucket account seems to have vanished into thin air. And it won't let me slide the arrow to prove I'm human so I can set up a new one, either. Thank you, Photobucket.

Hi CR: do you not have the "return to the old version of the site" button somewhere towards the top right corner of the page? I tried the new beta site a bit and then reverted to the old one because of all the problems you mention, which enraged me. Just checked: as of this moment I'm still accessing the old site - I'm dreading when they make the new one mandatory. :(

Hi Gary: that's all very well if you're just posting one or two photos. But if you are showing someone how do do something (seating nuts or positioning bridges are a couple I've helped people with here recently) and so need to post a dozen or more photos then having to load a new Photobucket page to get each picture's IMG code is going to be amazingly tedious. Partly because all their advertising can make the pages take a long time to download - I have nice fast broadband and even so PB can be incredibly slow, due to all the bandwidth heavy ads.

And as for build threads... A few here might remember my Touching Up Nikininja's Body thread: that one had over 900 photos on it! If I have to click between PB pages for every single link it would become unbearable!

Hey modwiz: that's very fair-minded of you. However, it's not free: they make their revenue stream by firing all that advertising at us. For that to work as a business model they need to keep us as customers - and that means not pissing us off with their PITA page design.

Are you listening, Photobucket? Uh. No, you're not...

Cheers - C

I hear you. My fair-mindedness is really lemonade from lemons. PB is a sleazy place.

Haha - I don't know if that's fair-minded or not, but it's pretty much the truth! :D

(Edit: true about PB, I mean.)

Cheers - C

It's possible it will start working again in a day or two. My account was unuseable for 2 1/2 days, then was fine.
