hoping this is a good place to ask.

im going to try and construct a pick up for a eerie yet heavy sound.

- p-90 pick up casing (at the moment single coil, second pick up if i make one will be a humbucker)
- thinking of using 40-41 AWG coil wire (bit hard to find though)
- ceramic magnet
- aiming for around 10-11 ohms for that heavy sound
- longish and slender bobbin

is this the right way to go about it for the sound im after.

any help, pointers, tips and advice would appreciated

ps. please note im from australia and some materials that may be easy for you to get a hold of may not be as easy for me.

I think pickup winding is voodoo magic. Sacrafice a couple of chickens first then give it a try  Actually it is more art then science, so I can not offer any real advice other then go for it!
