So my friend wants to do a cover of Under The Bridge so I gotta learn it, I love the Chili Peppers but I'm not the biggest fan of this song, maybe because I've heard it so much. However it's a lot of fun to play with some fun "thumb over top" chords. Couple of bum notes and messed up timings, plus its recorded in garageband on my iPhone with the phones mic.

Usually the big hits aren't my favorites either, but the guitar on this one is really cool. I suck horribly at the "thumb over the top" technique, I never imaged it could be fun.

But as for the thumb over the top, I find it more comfortable than a normal barre chord to be honest, and I like having the free finger to use, especially if you use the index finger to bar the 3 highest strings you got the spare finger if you make it a minor etc.

I wish everyone would post more music actually, it's my favorite part of the forum. I'll have to try the thumb over the top again when I jam later today, I'm working on hybrid picking right now which also feels crazy but hopefully it will pay off if I can get a "feel" for it. So many techniques, so little time!
