Try contacting Third Coast Guitars in Chicago. They have sources for all sorts of 'interesting' accessories.

Jazzmaster came in '96 with a guard which looked like pizza vomit (Olympic White guitar). Hated it. 'Had a new one made in dark tortise which looks beaucoup classier and improved the tone vastly.

I know a guy who once took a piece of chrome diamond plate to a machine shop and had it cut into a pickguard. Looked pretty cool on his black strat.

There used to be a place on line that would Crome your Plastic Parts, or even your Whole Guitar. But it seems to have dissapeared. I'll keep looking for it.

In addition to what Chet recommended, I have had good experiences with these guys.

Basically it's the same company. If you look www.pickguards.com is part of WD Music Products.

That's OK, I missed that fact the first few times I looked at it years ago.

I'm not seeing chrome in there. Mirror, but not chrome.

I could go for one of those Abalone 4-ply's. Maybe on a Walnut or Black Strat or Tele.

Oh man, that would be pretty....Abalone on a beautifully grained walnut body.
