This morning the Fed Ex truck stopped and dropped this crossroads pedal, out of nowheres, from a friend of mine in Florida. A total suprise! Do any forums have one of these and what do you think? I have a really nice friend. :) Image

Hi Minnesotastrats: I don't have one and have never tried it. How does it sound? You'd better give us a fulsome review - or maybe a YouTube vid! :)

Far as DigiTech's artist emulation pedals are concerned, I did once try out the Brian May Red Special pedal and a silly part of me quite enjoyed it. Certainly more neighbour- and bank-account-friendly than massively modding an AC30 and then playing it at full volume. I had half a mind to buy one just for giggles, but it looks like I missed the bus on that item.

I wonder how long that Clapton pedal will stay in the catalog? Ah well, you've got one, so... enjoy!

Cheers - C

PS: and, yeah! Nice friend!

In my mind I am using the powers of visualisation.
It's .... it's .... it's a little foggy still.
OK, I think I'm starting to make it out now.
Yes it's becoming more and more clear now.

MinnStrats...I have one, and really like some of the settings. I use the Cream (w/ Humbuckers) and the 70's Strat (w/ a Strat...duh) settings which are voiced really well. The pedal is built very well, and is very versital. It is fairly easy on batteries (although I use the plug)Enjoy it...I know I do.

And let us know what you think of it.

Thanks for this. I've been looking for this under the wrong mfg. and somehow not bright enough to ask a salesperson, though, somehow, you don't always get the right answers. I'm interested in whether or not this does something different from my classic Proco Rat.

Thanks for the get back. The Rat is not unlike a TS9. So the question remains as to what kind of tonal color variations does this Clapton pedal afford me that I could not tweak out of the former. We shall see what turns up.

BTW" As an aside I had asked Brad to post my screen name as ZZDoc. I liked the graphics better, but he couldn't accommodate me to that effect.

Anyway, my friends call me 'Doc'. Please do.

Does this pedal do amp presets, or is it an overdrive? I'm in pedal mode myself. I bought a Golden Cello today from MF. I should get it early next week.

Yes I do. We've known each other since 9th grade in 1967. Said he hasn't used this pedal in a couple of years. Thought I could use it. I'm hopin' he's not using his Tele next.

Thanks for the offer. I won't make the same mistake a friend did with his TS9. He swapped it out for some gear. Could have sold it to me but that's the way of it some times. :?

I just recently put my old ProCo LM-308 Vintage Rat on the bay and it fetched a very nice figure.

"The RAT" is a distortion pedal with a very simple circuit, based around a single op-amp, the LM308. The distortion is produced using a variable gain circuit with diodes shorting the output to ground to produce hard clipping of the input waveform. This distortion stage is followed by a passive tone filter and volume control.

From the very beginning, the RAT was destined to define “The Sound of the Underground.” It was, after all, born underground in the cavernous basement of the Pro Co Sound factory in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. From these humble origins, the RAT has evolved from a single, hand built prototype into a family of the most versatile and most recorded distortion pedals in the world.
