I couldn't resist, I just pulled the trigger on one of these this morning. 50% off street price was too good to pass up! :)

If you find any good gear related black friday deals, go ahead and post them too! Hopefully my GAS has subsided after that last purchase.

I had to jump on that deal too! Especially since you can order them online. (I don't ever leave the house on Black Friday) MF has them at that price as well. Merry Christmas! :D

I walked into my local GC 3 minutes after opening and picked up the last of the 15 Greta's that they said they had in stock. I have wanted one of these since I first heard about them.

While I was making some other purchases, I heard another guy trying to buy one. GC online had already sold out and none of the other stores within 50 miles had one. The GC employee called someone at the online center who told them that GC had no indication that Fender was going to ship any more. He was guessing that this meant that they were being discontinued.

I also picked up a sweet Gretsch 6 string Banjo on multiple discounts for about $260. I bought it for the worship leader at my church, but I am going to have a heck of a hard time handing it over.

TG: Being in the right place at the right time can often win you a prize when Fender d/c's a product line. I've been there and done that with my FSR AmDlx VG. In this case, Miami Mike and I were reminiscing just the other day about how our early amps were crafted out of modified table radios. We 'old guys' have witnessed the evolution of, and had the pleasure of acquiring and using when new, the classic vintage gear that many of you young'uns look back at with wishful thinking. That 'Greta' brought back many memories for members of our generation, I am sure. I hope you enjoy working with it as you continue to grow with your music. We'll be following you with pride.

Doc

I've been doing some research on them (since that was a complete impulse buy) and it seems like they sound best through external cabs and with upgraded tubes. Since I can use any one of my combos as an extension cab and upgrading the two tubes to a JJ 5751 and a JJ 12AT7 only costs around $20, I think this might be a really cool cheap amp. :)

I got a vintage 18" crash/ride (out of the kindness of the sellers heart) for $30 (tbh, it shoulda been double, even triple that. free shipping), a new cymbal stand for $30 (free shipping), a new amp cable $9 (20 feet, free shipping), a new pair of headphones, Skullcandy Smokin' Buds $8 (bought in store at 5:00 AM, also the name is slang for smoking weed where I come from) and a book, though, not discounted, it's still a great book called "Crappy Children's Artwork" Definitely the funniest book I've ever read, I highly suggest it. $15. (bought in store around 6:00 AM)

I was on a roll today, then I ran out of money in cash and Paypal.

This was my Black Friday moment. 15% off from MF, I decided to give it a try. I'm hoping it will be the one pedal I can take to Jam Night and get a distinctive sound. I'll let you know.

I suppose I should add that I took advantage of early Black Friday opportunity at GC and bought a Yamaha keyboard...PSRE233...for $65, using one of two birthday gift certificates I received this year. The next one is pending any further surprises GC or Fender may have in store. No pun intended.

Bought some two for $10 wall hangers at GC. Now negotiating to hang a couple out of the attic. It's a groovey life if you don't weaken. :P
