It's unlikely they'll show MS for free because someone is selling DVDs of the old shows. Saw it on an infomercial.

Still, it's a good idea.

I like MHD... it's MTV, VH1, and CMT rolled into one channel, and in high definition. It's basically music all the time. Not usually music videos, but a lot of live, in-studio, and acoustic performances.

I'm not a country guy, but I've been watching CMT. At least they show music videos for half the day. Of course, MTV owns them, too.

They also were commercial free when they first came on the air. I can remember the 1st day of broadcast. I thought, what a great concept, music videos 24 hrs a day and no commercials. Man I miss those days.

I remember the days when it was mostly videos, MTV news on the hour for a few minutes, and Remote Control was the only gameshow (I don't remember any other half-hour show.) I am proud to say that I haven't seen one second of MTV in over 5 years.

VH1 Classics is pretty good... much better than MTV... lots of stories and music from the past. Great if you like The WHO, Stones and other greats.

Yes, I should not be so cheap and get digital cable so I get can see VH1 Classics again. There are quite a few channels I used to get that are in the premium package now. So I have to pay more to get stuff that used to be free.

Reality TV did it in. Aging stars that can't do anything else but act like real life soap opera fools
