....That pickguard design would simplify placement of a logo.

It might make sense if this would be done as a limited edition to maybe do one each year in a VERY limited run. Like start with the Tele, then the P, then the Strat, J Bass, ect. One a year in a limited run of say 100-250?

There will need to be lefty-versions. Both Bass, and Guitar.

You guys have all missed the obvious answer... a Fender Lounge Guitar simply MUST be a Firestorm Strat re-issue...

Errr... What about a fender forum neckplate..

I like the pickguard idea, however I think the logo looks is a little too big- also how is the logo to be applied without it getting scratched off?

At least a neckplate is more of a universal item, much like along the lines of:

Try that on the black tele SBLS proposed. As for the neck plate...well....one might order either or both for the guitar of their choice purchased separately.

I doubt I would buy a forum FSR, unless the spec and the price added up to an awesome deal. But then I am pretty new on the forum and although I'm all for democracy, I don't think a noob like me should have as much say in something like this as the members of longstanding... Just my humble opinion.

I would however buy a forum custom neck plate - less in your face than a pick guard but would be nice to have. A neck plate would work for a wider range of guitars too

(apologies if anyone already suggested that - I did read all seven pages)

I know this is a crazy weird thought. However, what if the forum came up with a "build sheet" with features that are available from the Ensenada plant? All models that they make, all features. Then each member of the forum who wishes to submits their own FSR model. Each member gets one entry per year. Each year, one member gets picked. Their guitar or bass gets put into an FSR complete with limited edition neck plate. That would be pretty cool and interactive, I'd think.

When this first came up, long ago. I advocated the logo on one of those vinyl stickers that has no adhesive. It would be a much cheaper option, and you can customize any instrument without altering any parts ( some of us are much more comfortable with that than others.)

A neck plate or pickguard would be cool too. What I was thinking is probably not do-able but I am looking for a guitar and a Telecaster is what I would like. As for price, the 3 Tele's I picked to be different are all under 1k, so if the number of orders goes past 100 there may be some play room (pun?) Anyways here is a second choice Image
some cool features on this one too

ps: ash body with a Natural finish and a maple neck, or, one piece maple neck

The DIY customization of a guitar of one's chosing using either a custom made to order pickguard, sticker, and/or neck plate is sounding more and more in line with the price points many members seem to be comfortable with.

The cheap bastards! I think I'd pass on the pickguard or the sticker. The neckplate I'd definitely be down for.
