The obvious choice for a Fender Lounge guitar is a Strat in the color scheme of the one in the logo.

MIA $750 - $1000

I like it..

It looks like it's based off of an early tele. How about swamp ash, blonde nitro finish, bakelite pickguard, maple board, twangy bridge pickup(tele in strat clothes)...

Hey Doc, welcome back. ... Are you back or is this a long distance post?

I've pretty much given up hope on this project and currently looking at other options for a new guitar. I won't 'officially' throw in the proverbial towel but I'm also not waiting for Brad and/or FMIC to make a move.

    Cheers!

Arrived Fort Lauderdale at 11:45 Monday evening after 21 hours of travel: Venice>Paris>Atlanta>Fort Lauderdale. Not much jet lag. West bound travel seems a bit easier in that regard. Left much in Europe undone, but that will have to wait on other items on the bucket list. Hope we can light a fire under this project.

Have fun in Ft. Lauderdale Doc,I loved it when I was there, even though a cruise ship acquired bug kept me from seeing all the things that I wanted to,but I really did like the little that I did see.Anyway enjoy your time there and if you're a car buff like Serge is you most likely would really like the Packard Museum they have there.

I've been trying to keep the Group Hug / Press My Buttons roster on the current page but other than that things are where you left them. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Cheers!

If you want this to take off then you're going to need around 25 customers prepared to put down a deposit.

I think Fenders silence speaks volumes. Sorry to be a killjoy but thats what comes across when I read.

FLL is a home port for us when traveling by air. We live about 45 min north of there. The good wishes are appreciated not withstanding. I have to try to connect with Serge before he leaves Florida for Pennsylvania. He's relocating closer to where his son will be living and working.

    Hi nikininja. I don't think you're being a "killjoy". I think you're being realistic.

In all our discussions spanning six months and upwards of fifty pages we've been going back and forth on what we'd like to have, what we'd like to see, and what we'd like to pay. That's all fine n' dandy and certainly the purpose of this thread but what we haven't really discussed is what's in this for Fender and why would/should the company go forward with the project?

Making a profit is the obvious choice but I don't think the company's bottom-line hinges on revenue from sales of a Forum Guitar. Another reason could be advertising and maintaining good customer relations. ... ?

Anyhow, maybe if we can see things from their point of view we could understand or explain why it seems we're getting the silent treatment.

    Cheers!

i'd be intressted but it would need to be affordable i know many will say "god no!!!" to this but how about making it a vintage correct limited edition squier model (or just put fender on the headstock and make it affordable)? i mean, not everyones input will go into making the guitar so i guess that's bad enough right? may as well make it affordable so everyone could get one.

as for the style, i'll take either a strat, a jazzmaster or a 72 tele deluxe... i'm into flashy finishes so i'd like something original like gun metal gray with a black pearl pickguard, or amber with a black or tortoise shell pickguard, surf green with black pickguard etc. MAKE IT LOOK DIFERENT in terms of colour schemes. and i know i've been off the forum for a while but are block inlays still loved by all???

p.s. how about making it a mustang?? a student model for big time fender fans...
