Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

The link is "good" but it didn't work for me the first time either. Maybe there was a problem with the site? Anyhow, here it is: http://www.themusiczoo.com/product/1762 ... ge-Blonde/

the music zoo web site wrote:
Here we have the 2013 FSR Limited Edition '52 Telecaster, a Fender guitar that's been made in Japan - a location noted for its attention to the small details. The guitar is a vintage-correct instrument, featuring a beautiful Vintage Blonde finish on an ash body, 1-piece maple neck, and loaded with TL Vintage pickups - which are available only on MIJ Fender guitars. An excellent old-school Tele at an even better price.

Fender®, Telecaster® are registered trademarks of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

      $824.99
      Vintage Blonde Finish
      Ash Body
      1-Piece Maple Neck
      25.5" Scale Length
      7.25" Fretboard Radius
      21 Vintage-Style Frets
      TL Vintage Pickups
      Master Volume, Master Tone
Vintage Bridge with Steel Barrel Saddles
      Vintage Style Machine Heads
      Chrome Hardware

I'm not sure how this translates to the price tag for our project but if this '52 Tele can retail for $825 then the implication is that the Forum Lounge guitar need not cost the proverbial arm and three legs.

    Cheers!
    BM

I was meaning to chime in earlier then got distracted. Sorry, Boxbang.

I think the color is cool. It's certainly not common and I think would make for a good choice. ... no Bigsby though,

    Cheers!

Let's look at these specs...it seems do-able, but would like to hear what others think.

$824.99
Vintage Blonde Finish
Ash Body
1-Piece Maple Neck
25.5" Scale Length
7.25" Fretboard Radius
21 Vintage-Style Frets
TL Vintage Pickups
Master Volume, Master Tone
Vintage Bridge with Steel Barrel Saddles
Vintage Style Machine Heads
Chrome Hardware

The one thing I would like to change is the 7.25" - - to 9.50"
and maybe medium jumbo frets.

What say y'all?

I'm with Mike on this I don't care for the 7.25 neck or vintage frets either. Other than that i'm good.

Yes, a flatter fretboard would suit my slide work better, I'd even go 12 inch radius, but I'll go with the flow.
How about the 6 saddle bridge?

We can continue discussing features and specs but I really think we should follow Brad's advice and work towards establishing a price point.

My suggestions is to go with a price range where on the lower end little to no weight is given to the specs and on the upper end they weigh heavily in the decision to purchase the guitar. Using Ceri's descriptive monikers, my price range would start with $400 on the "Group Hug" end and go up to $1,700 on the "Needs to press my buttons" side. The amounts are in USD and the price is bottom-line out of pocket, after taxes, duty, prep, transport, insurance, .....

        Price Range
      • Bluer Monkey $400 - $1,700

Awaiting on new design options as well. How about a base model of an American Standard Telecaster with something special to set it apart from the regular ones. I too am biding my time until I see what is to be the Forum-caster Project.

S In terms of statistical analysis.. a mean, median and mode would be the best indicators. Presently, these three show a range between $900-$1100 USD.

[*]Bluer Monkey $400 - $1,700 USD
[*] rkreisher $500-$1200 USD
[*] ZZDoc $500-$1500 USD
